Frustrating machine - DO NOT USE WITH VISTA October 7, 2008 mommaB The printer looked good, was easy to use and printed well UNTIL I updated to a laptop with vista - now every day the machine wants to install a new driver, constantly wants to do updates and has fatal update errors - its DRIVING ME MAD - it has even affected the perfomance on my non vista desktop - BUY SOMETHING ELSE
Good price/quality relation September 29, 2008 Ryan L. (Scotland and Germany) pros: -good quality -works great -second hp printer and still satisfied (the first one is back at home, in germany) cons: -the cartriges that were in the printer don't last for more than 2 weeks at the rate i'm going. i get a few months out of the normal ones. -no cable to computer (i knew about that, it's still awfull they don't include that though) -you can't adjust the software so that the lowest print quality and lowest amount of ink is used every time
Excellent All-Round Printer, Copier and Scanner September 7, 2008 R. Valkass (Hertfordshire, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this printer from PC World (they price-matched Amazon's price) a few months ago. It works perfectly on my computer (running Kubuntu 8.04 Linux) and I have no complaints, apart from the USB cable not being included. The print, copy and scan functions all work to a very high quality, and this is a relatively quick printer. The card reader on the front and the screen make printing photos a breeze without having to turn a PC on. The copy function also works without the PC, which is handy. Highly recommended, especially for those of us using Linux. HP's Linux support is superb.
Avoid avoid avoid August 27, 2008 Dirty Davey (UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This machine is a piece of junk - the worst printer I've ever had the misfortune of buying. Constantly reinstalls the driver, freezes, seems to print only when it feels like. The customer "service" is a joke.
This is the WORST printer I've ever owned. August 22, 2008 N. Hussain 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Printer has various problems. Both mine and my brothers one. Installs drivers every time printer plugged in. Freezes in the middle of scans and print. Ocassionally reads "USB not Connected" when it is. This printer is just so irritating. Ink included only lasted a month and a half. I think it has a 5ml cartridge installed from factory. Might as well just left it empty. The power cable is so thin like a ribon. Very poor product from HP. Stay Away. HP customer services are useless by the way.
