OK, but not great May 15, 2008 Film Buff (Nottingham, UK) Given it only costs 7.99 and is the bottom model in Microsoft's range, I feel it would be harsh to award this two stars, so I'm giving it three stars. The keyboard is functional, with light touch keys & seems reasonably sturdy (though I haven't had it long) I also liked the fact it had a PS2 connection, so I didn't have to use one of my USB ports and it was wired (I get fed up with buying batteries) The function keys to launch Explorer etc are also useful. However, it lacks the "smooth" feel you get on a really good quality keyboard. The keys do feel cramped and the rear of the keyboard is only about 1cm higher than the front (so they keyboard lies almost flat on your desk) As I result I wouldn't recommend this for large amounts of typing (especially if you have big hands) In summary, if you're looking for a cheap keyboard & don't intend to do much typing then this might be fine. But if you intend to do lots of typing, or want a top quality keyboard then I would look elsewhere.
Warning PS2 connector April 23, 2008 Mr. C. Cardwell (Chorlewood) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
At the very end of the technical specification amazon mentions the keyboard has a PS2 connector. A PS2 connector is not suitable for laptop PCs which have USB sockets. It would be better if Microsoft also provided an adaptor and confirmed the product worked with an adaptor.
Cheap rubbish February 25, 2008 David H. Bebbington (Kent, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used many Microsoft keyboards, including the "Natural" curved models, and they have been fine, but this keyboard is junk. I managed to use it for approx. 2 minutes before a key stuck. Tried it again the next day, another key stuck. Too cheap to be worth returning, but my advice: DON'T BUY THIS KEYBOARD.
Not USB but ps/2 and no converter plug February 11, 2008 Mr. Glyn Mason (Channel Islands) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
found this keyboard after doing a usb keyboard search. Looked good Ordered it, recived it and then spotted its not USB and no ps\2 to usb plug so had to send it back. when out of the box looks good with extra function keys. Search under USB and look to left until keyboards are shown.
A superb wired keyboard with the right buttons. January 5, 2007 Mr. P. J. R. LEWIS (Llandudno N Wales) 17 out of 21 found this review helpful
Surprisingly i bought this keyboard to replace a brandnew wireless Logitec keyboard.A wireless keyboard is fine but unless you invest in one of the very expensive rechargable battery compatible mice to go with your keyboard you will be buying no end of batteries. My logitec keyboard uses AAA batteries which for some reason use little of their power, its the mouse that uses the batteries like nobodies business and thats with the AA batteries which should last longer than their smaller AAA cousins. I use a five button Microsoft wheeled mouse with my new Microsoft keyboard and the difference in cursor and page response is startling, its almost as if the mouse is super sensitive. This superb keyboard has all the right buttons including separate ones for email, internet, volume, even music downloads and to finish it off its by Microsoft so you know it will never let you down. It may have old technology cable coming from the back of it but theres one thing you know for shure that because its having a constant electrical source through its veins the cursor on the screen provided by the mouse willnot become slugish. To prove the point, whilst playing my Tiger Woods Golf Game with my wired mouse everything has become hyper sensitive compared to my Logitec wireless mouse.the game has become more of a challenge because the signal being sent through the mouse is that much stronger than before. If you are looking for a basic quality sensibly priced keyboard from the daddy of manufacturers then this keyboard should be high on your list.
