Stats:
5x speakers 36W RMS output frequency 180-20,000Hz
130W RMS subwoofer 35-180HzSignal to Noise Ratio (SNR): 85
(A SNR of 105 is equivalent to studio quality)
Overall, im very happy with these speakers. had them for a couple of weeks, music is amazing on them, and films are great. the sound quality is good, but not as great as another couple of systems on the market, such as the Creative Gigaworks 5.1 system, the S700, which is only a little more expensive, but has a SNR of 99, which means better sound quality, and each speaker is 70W with a 210W sub, not that you really need a higher power output than 36w per channel. Power output relates to how loud the speakers are, the SNR ratio is what you should be looking for for good sound quality. 85 Is good, and it takes a trained ear to notice the difference in quality between this and the 99 offered by the S700.
There is also the Gigaworks S750 at around 240 quid, which is a 7.1 setup, but in my opinion 5.1 and 7.1 isnt a huge difference.
This system is very well designed, the remote is perfect, with volume adjustments for sub, treble, centre speaker, rear speakers and also overall volume.
Goes VERY loud. ive had it at about 75% of its max and its enough to make your ears ring for a good couple of hours. not brave enough to have it at 100% (= One thing, at very high, ear bleeding volumes, the treble out of the speakers gets proportionally higher than bass, so it sounds a bit noisy, but i cant imagine why anyone would want to listen to it that high anyway.
Well worth the money, very happy with this but try and get the Creative Gigaworks S700, which is only a couple of quid more.
NB, P>If you do get a high end speaker system like this, make sure you get a decent soundcard, I just upgraded from an onboard soundcard to the Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic and the difference with this system is definantly noticeable.
