Due to a recent drive to downsize I decided to get rid of my large and clunky stereo but was concerned as to how to replace its sound using my i-pod or laptop. I eventually decided on this system and am well impressed! My main points are:
It arrived after 2 days using super saver delivery.
It looks sleek and shiny and best of all small and tidy; the sub-woofer is approx. 17x27x29cm, the satellite speakers are compact (approx. 12x8cm on their stands) and sit unobtrusively on my sideboard.
The controller is larger than I expected, it stands about 18x8cm but has separate controls for volume, bass, rear and centre speakers. I have it sitting on the floor next to the sub.
The cables for the speakers are sufficient in length.
The sound quality is really good for such a small system, it probably isn't quite as good as my stereo but it honestly isn't far behind it. Using my i-pod as the source it produces a very clear and crisp sound and quite easily fills my average sized living room. The bass is good and powerful also and unlike some of the other products I read reviews for you can adjust it so that it isn't too much of it.
I haven't yet tried it in 5.1 for watching films so I can't comment on that.
Overall, if, like me, you are looking to downsize old equipment whilst retaining good musical reproduction, and if your'e not a complete stereo geek looking for perfect hi-fidelity sound, then for 60 you can't go far wrong with this system.

Delivery was exceptionally fast, but the product was exceptionally poor. Sound quality is no better than a transistor radio!

Under 60 for these well made SONY speakers is 100% bargain. The 5 speakers are small, look smart & can be wall mounted. The 'control' unit is slim & equally smart looking, with controls for bass, centre, rear & volume. There is even a switch that simulates surround sound (thru the rear speakers) from stero.
The sound is very good for the money, with deep & reasonably tuneful bass & can go quite loud before becoming distorted.
One thing to note though, this is a speakers only set so to use with your PC you must have a sound card.
Why only 4 stars? Well my cables were all only 2 metres long, meaning the rear cables are only just long enough & then only 'cause I'm using them in my small bedroom. (I don't know if I got the wrong cables or what)
Oh & the sub woofer unit is somewhat large.
WIth this small proviso I reccommend them 100%

First off let me say that despite using the cheapeast postal service the product arrived literally within 1 or 2 days of me ordering it which was great.
Now onto the product itself... Well my first impressions when I got the box and opened it up was WOW. Its very smart looking and the sub is actually quite huge lol. The control box is a nice addition and to put the system together and get it up and running took all of 5-10 minutes.
This sound system has amazing sound quality and controlability as you have the option of increasing or decreasing the bass, rear and center speakers simultaneously so whether your playing games, watching films or raving it listening to music you can easily adjust the sound to suite which ever best.
The bass on this baby is bo00ooming you dont even need to put it on full setting and it still sounds better than the philips ms/whatever model number speakers that i got from amazon :D
I know wire length can be an issue, well for me not so much as i have a small room but either way these come with 3x 3meter and 2x 2meter so its quite sufficient enough in my opinion. Obviously i have a major spageti junction behind my pc/skybox/sound/xbox&hdtv but hell its worth it.
So overall for the price your paying your getting a top quality brand product that looks the business and is the business, I cannot stress enough how great these speakers are you really have to see for yourself.. Thats why im singing its praises in this rather long review as it being the first.
So if that doesn't float your boat I dont know what will
