I wanted a set of speakers that i could bring with me during my frequent business trips to connect to my iPod. The Creative Travelsound 400 looked well-built and compact so I went for it. At 50 quid, it isn't the cheapest around, but whatever. The sound is ok, but there's virtually no bass. And if you try and turn it up, it begins to break up. Now I don't play a lot of hip hop or club music, so i don't really want a boombastic system. But come on, even nornal pop music sounds too tinny. I kinda hate listening to music on it now in fact, and just use my headphones.
Other reviews i've read on the net say the same thing. You have to keep the level down. So if you've got no bass and the sound quality isn't crisp either, then why even bother?
Overall, 50 quid is too much to pay for such a listening experience - you'd get the same for a £20 set. It doesn't help either that the JBL On Tour is now on sale at £60, just 10 pounds more and with a higher wattage, plus the JBL expertise!
I'm disappointed i bought the Creative Travelsound 400. Maybe the older Travelsounds are better.
