I purchased these for my boyfriend's birthday, as he has recently bought a laptop. They are a breeze to set up - the two smaller speakers simply plug into the back of the bass speaker, and that connects through the headphones jack. Even I could set them up easily and I'm not very confident with setting up things on computers. The volume control has a headphone jack so you still have one should you want it. Although my boyfriend just disconnects the system from the socket on the laptop when he wants to use headphones so he doesn't use it.
He can also use the system with his TV as it also has a headphones jack. Perfect for when he plays his xbox! It is also worth mentioning that Logitech sell an adaptor should your TV not have the jack, although I haven't researched this myself.
The wires are a decent length but you will need extention cables if you want to lay the speakers out in the corners of the room. The cable between the bass and the laptop is a little over a metre by my estimate so it will have to be fairly close. We only just had enough length between the bass and the laptop - the cable was a little stretched.
As for the sound - awesome! I found the sound to be lovely and deep. As there is seperate dials for the volume and the bass you can adjust it to however you like. I recommend always having a little bass going as without it the smaller speakers sound somewhat flat. Beware as you may annoy your neighbours as it is very powerful! The room shakes!
I love the look of these speakers too. It shouldn't really count towards it but I can't help it! The speakers are sturdy and a decent weight, and feel good quality.
I also purchased a mains 2 to 3 pin adaptor after reading reviews that it came with a two pin plug. This one, however, came with a three pin plug so I didn't need it! So on that one it's up to you as it looks like it may come with either.
Overall I think this is a great product. Look great, sound great. My boyfriend of course loved them - he's a big fan of his music and laptop built-in speakers are never that good so I think I did a good job getting these! As speakers go they are fairly cheap which is always a plus. They sound great with everything from Queen to the game Gears of War!

as every other review has stated these speakers produce brilliant sound quality even at full volume with no distortion. they are cheaper than virtually all other speakers of this type and are stylish. they dont produce any background humm either as some competitors do. the build quality of these speakers are also brilliant. i was expecting the speaker stands to be plastic but they were metal :D. i urge you to buy these speakers for your PC or laptop.

in what has been called rip off britain its refreshing to find a product that blows the saying if its to good to be true it probably is, right out of the water. i read all the reports on these sreakers and while i dont know what a mid range is all i can say is that if you can find better speakers than this in this price range good luck. and again amazon service was second to none

After months of research, comparisons and testing of many PC speakers available to me, I finally decided to purchase the Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System. So far I am very pleased with my decision based on the amount I paid. Here's a few pointers:
Pro's:
*Insanely cheap for the performance
*Sleek, elegant look
*Wall mountable speakers
*Handy remote with bass control
*Decent bass production
Con's:
*To me, it seems that the system lacks in the mids
Overall, the performance of these speakers is well worth the price I paid and is so good, they easily fill a room of any size. I highly recommended these speakers to anyone looking for speakers and have a pocket of 30- 100.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just got these speakers and they are awesome! I love my music and am totally addicted to good sounding music, and so I think it is very important to have good speakers that give my music the sound that it does have. These speakers go way beyond this and if anything enhance the sound. The delivery time was rapid, and everything was done proffesionally. I recomend these to anyone who loves music but doesn't like getting nailed by the price. Totally Awesome!!!!
