Product Description MS EXCHANGE 2000 SERVER RESOURCE KIT UK
Amazon.co.uk Review Microsoft's Resource Kits aren't just expensive boxed sets you buy for their utility-packed CD-ROMs anymore. Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Resource Kit, typical of the recent additions to the line, backs up its valuable collection of administration utilities with excellent technical advice, official wisdom and precise writing. If you know enough about Exchange 2000 Server to recognise the problems you are going to face in deploying it, this kit will give you the knowledge and tools you need. It is worth noting that this product is primarily to do with deployment and configuration. Everyday operation of Exchange 2000 Server isn't nearly as difficult as getting the system set up right in the first place. The utilities and documentation here help you get the messaging system off the ground properly. The authors--members of the development team and Microsoft's consulting arm--explain the options available to the administrator at each point, and when each one is appropriate. But they leave up to you the decision about which path to take. This approach, in combination with the high-quality documentation on the software utilities that ship with this product, is well suited to technically accomplished readers. For concise treatment of Exchange 2000 Server administration issues, especially those that pop up after implementation time, consider Microsoft Exchange 2000 Administrator's Pocket Consultant. --David Wall

The guys & gals at MS have provided another excellent value book that is worthy of any serious IT professionals bookshelf, I should know I've just about as many books as PC world, coutesy of Amazon.co.uk. This book will take you from Basic deployment level to the stages of Advanced deployment, covering everything from Security Strategies, Virus prevention, Backup Strategies etc etc. The nitty gritty of the book will provide all the info required to build, implement and maintain your 2000 Exchange Server, covering in depth replication, ADC connector, connectivity to other messaging systems this is a definitive article, let alone the companion CD is worth the price of the book alone, it is also alot easier to read than the previous Exchange 5.5 Resource kit which appears to be one of the books aims (Which also recieved excellent praise). To list the books abilities would probaby take as long as it did to read, which was just over a week, although it has proved to be a well thumbed reference guide whilst on the job setting up of e-mail Servers, the practicals far outweigh anything that you are likely to recieve in the way of MS training from IT training companies, which makes the book worth its weight in gold in the content that it covers, and in way the information is delivered in a clear, concise manner. I haven't been this impressed with a book as much as this, since the Mastering NT4 Server by Mark Minasi, which was also of outstanding value. Not a guide to show you how to pass exams this is the IT Administrator type. I cannot express the benefit enough of what the book has provided, but don't take my word for it, go get it.Paul Harrison, MCP,MCP+I,MCSE,MCSE+I NT4 & MCSE W2K
