Better than thought June 25, 2008 Mr. Donald G. Griffith 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ordered this cable at the same time I ordered PVR from another supplier on 18th June. PVR arrived on 20th. The cable finally arrived this morning, 25th. Happily the PVR came with its own cable-however,the downside to this was that the cable was cheap and caused a lot of "ghosting". The Strand cable has cured most of the "ghosting", and, as such, is very good value for the unit cost and P&P- if you can afford to wait for delivery, that is.
Good and Bad January 13, 2008 Richard Stowey (Bristol, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the cheapest scart connector i could find just because i wanted to connect my cheap dvd player to my cheap (and old) tv. I neglected to read the other reviews before hand, which isn't usually like me. When i received the product it was straight out of the packet and into the back of the units. I tried to put the first one in with a little difficulty and realised about 3 or 4 pins were bent to the side. I bent them back into place which was quite easy and proceeded to plug them in. Although only one end had bent pins, both were a very snug fit and required almost forcing the connector into the socket. Poor manufacturing aside, the picture and sound are better than i expected for such a cheap product. I won't be unplugging it very much at all, until i upgrade my tv at which point i'll most likely bin the scart system completely! If you want something cheap and cheerful and you don't mind 'altering' it to fit then here's your product.
Poor connector June 27, 2007 Tipsy (Windsor, UK) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I had quite a lot of difficulty fitting this scart lead due to poorly manufactured connectors. The gold plated connectors initially refused to go into the scart sockets of the Sony TV and DVD player. I had to bend them with a screwdriver and use a considerable amount of brute strength. In the end it worked and the picture is OK!
Doesn't work. February 25, 2007 Jane A. (UK) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I bought two of these leads. Both came with crocked and/or loose pins straight out of the package. One of the two I could coax into my DVD player and my TV and then it only transmitted sound, no picture. The other didn't go in at all. There are two possibilties: a. I was really, really unlucky and got TWO 'monday products'. b. [...], meaning: the product was never ment to work, but it is cheap enought so most people don't bother sending it back.
The GOLD Scart Lead January 22, 2007 Mr Blobby (London, UK) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought two of these. One from Amazon and one from a 1p seller. They were packaged differently, however item was exactly the same. I presume different companies are buying from same manufacturer. 1p sounds good to me.
