Works a treat March 30, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've given it 5 stars not because I have compared it with other component video cables but because it was good value for money (ok apologies to those who don't accept such a concept when talking about interconnects but I just have a problem with spending 50+ on any cable)and it produced noticeably better quality than the Scart lead it replaced.Bit worried by the previous comments when buying but had no problem with the connectors on my DVD (JVC) or LCD TV (Samsung). But I would echo the comment about flexibility. It isn't. I guess the reason why Belkin make this 2.4m is that it gives you about the same usable length as a more flexible 2m cable. I had measured up and reckoned 2m would suffice (and 1.8m wouldn't) but if this cable had been 2m then it would not have reached. The cable is the thickest of any cable I've owned (about 2cm diameter!).
Good quality cable but with some flaws in description November 2, 2005 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
I purchased this cable from Amazon in July 2005 and, as usually, was very impressed with Amazon's service. However, I am less impressed with the cable, in particular with its manufacturer's description.Firstly, the cable appears to be quite rigid, probably because of its quad-shielding, so I had quite a few problems with bending it in the way I wanted. Secondly, its connectors are about 14 mm in diameter (quite thick), so they fitted my DVD player but could not fit my very modern Philips LCD television, which had its component video plugs placed too close to each other for all three connectors of the cable to be connected. As a result, I had to sell the cable via eBay for a fraction of its original price and to by a cable with thinner connectors... Thus, before buying this cable try to assess whether the connectors will fit your equipment. If Belkin quoted the diameter of the connectors in the cable description this would have been excellent.
