Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   July 20, 2007

I bought these shortly after buying my HP Pavilion which came with an HPw19 widescreen monitor. Despite having checked up in advance, these speakers aren't compatible with the screen - the fixings are all w-r-o-n-g!!

I now have the speaker bar wedged between the monitor and the stand, and that kind of works.

As for quality, the sound is tinny and crackly. They hum when not in use, and the volume control is very jumpy. They are incredibly quiet, and so I tend to have the volume turned up pretty high and then use my keyboard volume control. I'm not an avid music listener, but comparing these speakers to the ones that came with my old Time computer many years ago is like comparing a transistor radio with a DAB radio. If I want to have good sound quality then I plug in headphones.

Needless to say a year on I'm back in the market for a decent set of speakers.

Only good point: they don't take up any space on the desk.
