Good purchase even better sound! July 21, 2008 W. Islam (Liverpool, UK) Yes, I was also unlucky when I switched it on the fuse blew(Nothing came on). I was prepared with glass fuses(which has been working for a month now, didnt blow so far!)I use it on my PC with onboard sound ACL888 High def audio 24bit 96khz 100dB. It delivers a mind blowing sound. The sub is huge but my room can accommodate it. It's not the best sounding speaker for music because high frequency bass can be absent(wheres the beat, its there its just too deep for me to hear), but the surround makes it worth while like a club environment. Movies and games has got to be the best thing these speakers do. Gears of war, COD4, Pro Street you name it you will feel like your in the game. While watching movies you can forget you are in your room, it can be as good as theaters. Different sound setting can bring out the best in movies like the Pro logic 2 and stereox2 for music. Please beware you do end up with a headache if you continuously listen to these at high volumes, also these are not suited to small rooms or houses that aren't detaches or apartments. In small space the bass will echo!
Be Warned! July 20, 2008 goodfella (U.K.) I was contemplating purchasing this system to replace my dell 5.1 speakers for over 2 weeks. based on positive reviews I took the plunge, Does it live up to the hype? Definitely! sound is truly incredible, powerful and crystal clear. But a word of caution, the size of this set mainly the Subwoofer has been mentioned in other reviews, I didn't pay to much notice until it arrived and I took it out of the box, ITS HUGE!! three times the size of my old sub.It has created a small problem in terms of where to put it and also the amount base output is making my desk vibrate! This can be changed using the well designed control center unit. But those small issues aside it really is a great surround sound speaker system. Just make sure you can use its potential without getting the Neighbors out of bed, I've already had complaints!
AMAMAMAMAMAZING, sort of July 5, 2008 S. K. Hawkins it came today, the delivery man struggled slowly but surely towards the door, my face lit up, anyway got it it being careful not to go too close to tv, set it up for my playstation on optical, no sound, damn! then i realised not on optical then the ps3 has to actually make a noise/sound through the speakers for the umm control pod to realise its there, anyway, i cant stress how amazing these speakers are seriously get them! honestly dont think about getting anything else, the bass is unbelieveable, big and loud very nice, speakers small powerful, not hugely directional if wall mounted but it will do, the sound is so crisp, friend came round today, and straight away mentioned how crisp they were and how clear the sound was, he was amazed seriously buy them they are realllly good, no doubting it, and buy a surge protector either single one or extenstion cable sort of one, its to protect the fuse that is apparently prone to blowing, ive had no trouble what i do is before i turn off is, turn the volume right down, then press the standby button on the pod, then off on the back of the sub/bass then off on the wall. this should ensure that the fuse doesnt blow anyway, absolutely amazing must buy these are the best speakers ever, (well ive ever had) dont waste money on a 700 s0ny set when these are better!!!!! today 2nd day of having them went to turn them on, NOTHING, fuse had blown be prepared get a spare set of fuses
Amazing but a few things July 2, 2008 M. Buxton (England) I got this after reading reviews, I paid for first class delivery and the box came damaged, so I was a bit annoyed about that especially being first class, fortunately it was only a few small rips around the sub area on the box, i advise you to check the box before the delivery man goes away so you can mark it as damaged if it is. Also the remote interfears with my TV and my TV remote > Vice Versa. I'm currently using this sound system on my PC but if I turn on my Polaroid 26" HDTV it makes my logitech sound controller centre thing do a sound test, it's annoying!!! Can I disable the remote feature on the logitech set-up? Cause it really is annoying me.. Also my PC monitor has a strange line at the top, I don't know if that was there before but the sub is more the 2ft away under my wooden desk but I can't move it away further. But I don't know if thats just my monitor VGA cable messed up. This is my first 5.1 surround sound kit, I really wanted the sub woofer and the sub kicks out some amazing bass. I just bought orange box on Steam for 24 and them games (portal, episode 1, 2 etc) are truely amazing in surround. I hope to hook up my 360 and PS3 with optical when I buy a longer cable...(it only comes with 3 sound card cables) It's a great sound system, speakers are nice, but they use cables (I thought satellite meant wireless) but it's great nevertheless, well worth the money if I can fix them few tiny problems.
Very good June 20, 2008 L. Collins Brought this recently and i must say it is very very good, 505w RMS!! Cant go wrong....The build quality is excellent and the sound clarity is second to none! As previosuly mentioned there are a few things to be wary of. Firstly as stated by another user, the remote interfers with my TV and vice versa, this is annoying to say the least. The other is the size of the sub....it is massive and finding somewhere to put it is a struggle, make sure you have space before buying. There is also only one optical input which is a step down from earlier models. The other thing i noticed is the shear size of the decoder, it is bigger than the speakers! Make sure you buy a good length optical cable otherwise you will struggle to find a place to put the decoder. But if you want a quality system at a good price you cant go wrong with this!
