1 out of 5 stars Junk   April 1, 2008

First the good. Arrived next day
Now the not so good. Card installs fine under XP SP2 . Device manager comes up with device working properly. However not one single device is recognised. All of which operate fine out of existing other ports. A piece of Junk. I even tried installing the latest VIA drivers, no change. Do not order this card it is useless

Plugged this into a free PCI slot in my WinXP Pro machine, was recognised straight away no problems.

4 out of 5 stars USB PCI card   March 7, 2007

I agree with the other review here.

Upon 1st installation XP didnt detect the card properly and existing components plugged into the usb ports didnt work despite loading the supplied driver disk. That said I un-installed all usb hardware in device manager and rebooted the P/C and when it restarted XP re-allocated everthing including the card. All works ok now and represents superb value for money.

I would however warn that if I wasn't P/C literate then I would have probably returned the card assuming it was faulty.

4 out of 5 stars Rough start, but got there in the end   November 23, 2006

When I first installed the card and booted XP, it gave me nothing but problems as it seemed to clash with the usb 1.1 ports built into my machine. So I cleared the drivers for the both the pci card and the built-in ports, I rebooted and allowed XP to sort itself out, it works perfectly now.

I am by no means a computer expert.I bought this USB2 card to increase the amount of USB ports on my pc,and USB2 being the logical step forward. When i received the card i followed the instructions enclosed, which i must add were very simple and easy to follow. The card took about 10 mins to install, turned on my computer, the computer then installed it all for me!!.
No hassle,no problems.
