A poor wireless mouse August 12, 2005 18 out of 30 found this review helpful
I bought this mouse for my wife's laptop as she prefers not to use the laptop's touchpad. The reviews for the product were really good so we ordered one. The mouse is indeed very easy to use and a good design. What led me to place the one star though is the base station. This is pretty much the same size and shape as a mouse and the cable connecting it to the laptop is as long as a normal mouse cable. I fail to see the benefit of this as a wireless mouse. I now use the mouse, until the batteries run out and then it will go in the bin. In the meantime I bought my wife a nice compact, well designed Kensington wireless mouse which is excellent.
Just recieved it today and its GREAT June 15, 2005 Mr. A. J. D. White 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have long been a fan of Microsoft mice having owned more than a couple of them. They have always felt comfortable in my rather large hand, they have always given me years of reliable use and they have all worked well. This mouse is no different, it took a couple of minutes and 1 reboot to install as the instructions said and now its up and flying. The reciever is fairly small but not too small that it can be knocked about or off my desk (its hidden away behind my monitor and works fine from there). The mouse itself is a bit heavy but glides easily and is very responsive to any movements. The weight comes from the batteries and doesn't impare using the mouse. As for the scroll wheel it is smooth rather than stepped but I am already getting used to this and find I can scroll one line at a time if I want to. The tilt function is great for surfing the web and in spreadsheets. I can't wait to try and see if I can get it to work in games, but I don't have any fps games at the moment to use it with. All in all this is a great mouse, yes you can buy a lot cheaper mouses but if you spend the extra for this then you won't be disappointed, I am not.
Great January 13, 2005 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
This is the same product as the Wireless Optical Mouse Periwinkle (which has many reviews), apart from the colour. Installation was a breeze - install the software, restart the computer and plug the mouse in. At first the mouse was very unresponsive and took a while to move the pointer on the screen, but another restart sorted this. Many people have complained about the fact that the scroll wheel has no 'click' so it, and instead is a smooth action. I do not find this a problem, and very easy to get used to, even though my previous mouse did have a click to it. The feel to this mouse is fantastic, it glides across the surface, mine is a wooden desk, and its shape is very comfortable for left or right handers. Overall I think this deserves 5 stars, its the best mouse ive ever used and I can imagine myself sticking with it for a long time.
