Great stuff but be warned! April 19, 2008 J. Collins (Berks, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These work fine, although I could only get them to work on x16 speed of burning, all higher speeds caused the cd drive to make a loud grinding sound (Can't be good!) so be warned when the label says 48x compatible as i found this to be untrue! Otherwise great stuff and consistently good quality throughout....
You Can Do It With Sony! February 10, 2008 Mrs. Dawnc Alexandre (Jersey (CI)) 3 out of 16 found this review helpful
A CD-R is a Record able disk, which allows you to store masses of data onto a disk. If you have a burner inside your computer or laptop you can use these CD's to store necessary data onto a disk for backup. You can store anything you want, from documents, programs, software, music, mail and even videos. A CD-R can store up to 700MB's of data. If this doesn't satisfy you, you can burn up to 80 minutes of music as a Audio CD instead, whether if it's a mixed album of random songs, or even a proper album or single. Unfortunately a CD-R disk can only be used once. Once data is burnt onto the CD, you cannot erase the data off the CD! This CD is done by the company Sony. It is just one of a few companies that design these types of burnable CD's. There are no differences between the CD itself. It is just done by a different company! My Grade For The Pack: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up My Wish: Sometimes when I finished burning a CD I keep thinking to myself I've just wasted a CD on something that I don't exactly want. So I do wish you have the option of erasing some of the contents off the CD! Final Comments: The fact is if you use a Computer or a Laptop very often and you tend to save a lot of data on your machine, backing up your data is vital. If you don't backup your data and your computer crashes you will not only loose your computer, you will loose your precious data. So if you have a burner on your Computer or Laptop that allows you to burn CD's and you use your machine frequently, then a pack of CD's is well worth the hassle! Review By Captain Chris Kipper
Great CDs December 8, 2007 Me@VIP (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
In contrast to the other persons review I have burned hundreds of these CDs and have never had a failure, perhaps he has a problem with his burning software? They work great especially when burning audio, highly recommended and very reliable!
48X? :-S June 2, 2007 K. JONES (Chester UK) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I normally read a few reviews of the products I plan to buy. Being Sony I thought I would be safe to just buy these CD-Rs despite there being no reviews already on Amazon. After all, it's Sony, right?...not exactly. 11 CDs, 10 coasters! I slowed down to 32X, no joy. I tried a number of programmes and different burn methods, still no joy. I finally slowed right down to 16X and since then no trouble. Having done a bit more research I have now found out I am by no means the first person with this issue. The fact that they at least seem to work fine at 16X is the ONLY reason they get 2 stars. A poor job by Sony.
