Cheap but not nasty May 12, 2008 K. F. Lau (UK) I ordered the WG111 USB adaptor after failing miserably to get WG111T to work on my son's new Vista PC. The WG111T had come with the package I bought for DG834GT Super-G Wireless Modem Router. The WG111T adaptor worked fine on my XP laptop but refused to be installed in the Vista PC. Even with the v2.0 of the software, it still would not work. But no such bad experience with the WG111! The whole installation took 10 minutes from starting to working. It came with WG111v3 of the software and installed and configured the adaptor first time according to the instructions. The adaptor does get rather hot and signal strength appears to decrease somewhat with time. But by using the USB extension, I was able to get a better signal. So far so good. Not bad for 17 or about.
dont bother March 21, 2008 E. Reed (uk) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Great March 8, 2008 A. Srivastava Easy to install and works perfectly. Has a longer range than I thought and is very fast. Not great for streaming but great device for the price.
Easy install, good performance, reliable March 7, 2008 J. Gooch I purchased this around a week to two weeks ago. It has been used on my sons PC which has Windows Vista. It installed on Vista within minutes with absolutely no problems. Signal connection has been at the very top - our wireless router being about 10 metres away with a wall between. Has worked absolutely fine since installation. The only main issue is that the unit gets very hot once connected to the internet. This is not a problem if it is simply plugged into the computer, however if you opt to use the provided velcro tags and holder then it can cause the adhesive on the velcro to actually melt, meaning the unit actually falls off the holder after a couple hours of constant use.
Excellent gadget! March 5, 2008 G. Buchanan (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this because after moving back into my flat (I'd been in temporary accommodation for a month due to major repairs) the computer refused point blank to connect wirelessly to the internet - which it had been doing for well over a year but dropped connections regularly. My ISP said that it didn't seem to have a wireless network card on it and suggested I buy this gadget and after reading the reviews I went out and bought one, not without some trepidation. So far it has worked faultlessly. The software was easy to install and the only thing I needed help with was getting the WEP code, which my ISP gave without any difficulty. The adaptor picked up not only my main wireless connection, it found another two which are in the immediate vicinity. The computer is on the other side of the same room as the router, so I didn't need to use the enclosed cable and I didn't feel that the adaptor felt "plasticky" as some other people have said - it seemed perfectly solid to me. So far the computer has not lost its signal once and the general overall speed has been much better than before so I am very happy with this resolution of what promised to be a time consuming problem to solve. I have Windows XP and none of the difficulties mentioned in relation to XP which have been mentioned by other reviewers occurred. Perhaps Netgear have at last fixed the bugs in the software!
