Great mouse for the price November 4, 2008 Raymond Lee (United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using this for a few weeks now, this mouse is by no means perfect, but it's great depending on your needs. This mouse only supports upto 400dpi so it may be a problem for some. The Side buttons feel clunky, and not 'firm' enough. Scroll wheel 'locks' whenever you scroll both up and down, even though I've only had this mouse for a short period of time, the 'locking' seems to have weakened from when I first bought it, ideal for gamers who use it for weapon switching though. The mouse is also incredibly smooth, almost as if you're using it on a mouse mat even when you're not. It could be just me, but I wish there could be more of the rubber that you will find on the side of the mouse, instead of the smooth plastic which covers most of it. Edit: After some more use, the pads underneath the mouse have gotten abit rougher, making the experiance not so smooth as it first was when I bought it. I would reccomend using it with a mouse mat if you're going to be using it to game. I've also been getting sudden 'jumps', which I've never gotten before with my old mouse, not sure why it happens, thought dust was the problem but that doesn't seem to be the case. So it seems that the rule: 'you get for what you pay for' stands true for this product. I would give it 3 stars but amazon won't let me edit my ratings.
Ratchett and Clank December 13, 2007 P. Robinson (Yorkshire, England) I bought this Explorer 3.0 to replace an Explorer 4.0 which had stopped responding. It is virtually the same in look and feel, and feels very 'at home' in my hand. It doesn't have the tilt feature on the scroll wheel though, and the wheel itself is very noisy and clanky when scrolling, unlike the 4.0 which was silky smooth. I've taken to using the 'middle click' feature for moving up and down windows instead because of this. I love the customisable buttons though, and the two side buttons I couldn't do without now. If you don't mind a ratchety scroll wheel this is a brilliant mouse.

having tried out two of the newer black models after using the silver models for years Microsoft has actually ruined it. the scroll wheel is far too loud and clanky...currently seeking out the mx 400 from logitech
Highly recommended FPS and multi-task mouse May 22, 2007 Mr. MD Kneale (IOM) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Since I started playing Counter Strike Source a little more seriously I've been looking for the perfect mouse for it. At present I have 2 versions of the Logitech G5 and a Razer Copperhead. While the G5 and Copperhead have their good points they also have bad ones some of which are inexcusable in my mind (drivers and firmware installation from Razer). The Intellimouse, in my opinion, out performs the other 2 for FPS. It has the speed of a 2000DPI laser mouse in a twitch of the wrist and the precision of a lower end dpi mouse when you track the mouse slowly without having to make minute movements when compared to the laser mice for the same effect. I've been using the G5 and Copperhead for months now. I found out which was better for myself but that mouse still didn't feel 'right'. The Intellimouse does. It has the right fit in your palm, a good all round weight and runs/tracks smoothly on all surfaces with the optical engine and new feet pads. Those of you wanting the performance of a high end laser mouse without paying the price should seriously consider this produect. Casual/hardcore gamer or photoshopper, this is the perfect mouse. You may also want to note the software should be installed BEFORE plugging in the mouse and also this software WILL NOT run parallel to Logitech's Setpoint.
It's good for the price May 15, 2007 Martin Dimartino-Marriott (Nottingham UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This mouse only gets 3 stars due to, mostly the roller wheels. It does have the 'stepped' feel which is good for feedback, but it's quite stuff and clunky. Quite loud. The mouse feels nice in the hand and it has two buttons on the side, great for 'forward' and 'backwards' browsing. It's responsive, but could be a bit quicker. Even on full setting it's quite slow, for me at least. I'm used to fast pointers. This mouse would be perfect if it had a smoother, yet stepped scroll wheel and if it was made into a wireless model.
