It does exactly what you expect- and something else March 24, 2008 Jack Percival (Surrey, UK) This product is exactly what you expect- looking at the price and what you are getting. Whilst the microphone is bad quality when you are using the webcam due to the interference, the webcam generally functions as you want it to and can be focused using the ring. Whilst the colour is sometimes off- it can be adjusted- it does need to be colour balanced when it is plugged in. Whats the something else? The LED's everyone has been complaining about is what makes this camera "night vision" - they light up when it is dark or the sensor is covered up- a nice touch that can be useful sometimes but annoying at others. In conclusion, its worth what your paying for it.
This is not a night vision cam March 21, 2008 Rien Post (Ithaca, Greece) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's not a bad camera but this is NOT a night vision cam. Which came as a disappointment because that's why I ordered two of them. When I opened the box I found it's just an ordinary web cam of average quality. When it gets dark in the room, the 6 LEDs will come on and illuminate the person in front of the camera. That's not night vision, that's a webcam with a torch. If that's good enough for you, fine, but if you're looking for a proper night vision cam give this one a miss. It's not what it says it is.
not as bad as i thought it would be December 22, 2007 Rachael Bold (Liverpool, england) the setup was easy to follow and very quick. I had it set up in less than 5 mins. picture quality isnt the best but for the price you cant complain.
Limited - you get what you pay for October 21, 2007 Mr. R. P. Gretton (Essex) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this simply on price and at a couple of quid, you certainly get what you pay for. Install instructions are not correct, although on XPsp2 installation isn't too difficult. If you have autorun disabled, as I have, you need to browse to the install disk and double click one of 4 exe files (note that the disk does not contain an autorun setup file, so how the booklet instructions could work I really don't know). I found the first and second files work with this camera. After the software install is complete, plugging in the camera finishes the process. At this point you see its limitations. Even switching to the latest Amcap rather than the packaged Vidcap software will not enable some options. Really useful settings such as flipping the image are not available. There is an LED on/off soft switch in the settings - it doesn't do anything.

Best pound I ever spent.only quirk is that you must use amcam to use all tools, rather than the task bar.A nicely made bit of kit too.
