Perfect for what I need July 12, 2008

Yep, this really is as great of a monitor as all the reviews here say it is. After setting my resolution to 1440x900 it was easy to setup. Just make sure to update your monitor driver in the device manager in windows. I failed to do this and was somewhat dissapointed at first. The last TFT monitor I bought around a year ago for about the same price was so rubbish that I sent it back straight away. This one on the other hand is brilliant. I think they must have come on a long way since then.

Found this screen at a clearance sale at another retailer, bought it and don't think I could have done any better , even if I were to have doubled the price!
Only down side is lack of DVI but this is no problem.

I've gone from a 17" crt monitor to this screen. It's so clear! I honestly thought a screen wouldn't make much difference to a computer, but it really does. And at this price, it's a steal. If you have an older lcd, or especially if you have a crt monitor, don't hesitate to buy!

I am amazed at the difference this monitor has made. Items on the screen are so much brighter and clearer, the desk feel much more spacious, the study feels much bigger!
What a difference a day made - one day I had an old, bulky CRT screen and the next a fantastic, snazzy, streamlined widescreen LCD wonder! I thought it was all hype about LCD screens - how wrong I was. I really wish I'd gotten one sooner.
I would definitely recommend this Acer to anyone even remotely considering it!

I can't go into all the technical aspects of the other reviewers but if your old lcd monitor packs up as mine did then get one of these. Bright screen, works straight out of the box, not one dead pixel. I feel like I've just bought a new computer!
