Misleading Pics October 3, 2008 Mr. Gavin Ledger (York UK) Ok, so i should have payed more attention, but the pic with this item is clearly an Ipod doc for a regular g3 or 4 full sized Ipod and not a nano doc, nano docs being square!!! not chuffed! Its not the first time amazon have got the pics wrong against products well what to do with the bloody thing, suppose i shall send it back.
Apple iPod nano Dock August 14, 2006 T. Phillips (Hampshire, England) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
The dock has two connections on it, a line out 3.5mm jack and a female dock connector port. The dock connector obviously connects to the computer. The line out is not for headphones! The idea of the line out is that you can connect the ipod to an amplifier or hi-fi. The advantage of using a line out connection over a headphone jack to connect to amp or hi-fi is that the line out port bypasses the headphone circuitry, and the sound quality is better. The volume control on the iPod won't affect the line out 'volume', because you're meant to adjust the volume on your amp. Please read manuals before moaning about products! But anyway... it does the job, and looks great too on your desk. :)
Great add-on January 16, 2006 John Kimble (N. Ireland) 20 out of 25 found this review helpful
This is a really useful and attractive piece of kit. Before it was a bit of a pain getting the USB and getting everything hooked up. Now I just set my nano into the dock and I'm all set to go. I can do everything I want to do including hooking my nano up to a stereo while the docking bay charges the battery. I agree with the other user who suggested that an ipod mini docking station would do the same job but if dont already have one then why not try this. I don't think you'll be disappointed
Not necessarily necessary! December 19, 2005 Namdoog (UK) 12 out of 33 found this review helpful
Whilst I'm sure the Nano dock is a nice piece of kit - it certainly looks it and most Apple products, of which I have many, do appear to have been consciously designed rather than simply having evolved from toasters - do you really need one? Having graduated (?) from an iPod mini, I find its dock to be perfectly serviceable for the Nano.
Good but for one minor flaw December 12, 2005 Mr. M. Randall (Wakefield, UK) 36 out of 50 found this review helpful
This is a very useful product to have as it fits on the end of your synchronisation cable and you can drop your iPod in it. Fantastic. It also has a Line Out port and this is where my minor quibble lies. What is the use of the Line Out port which is not effected by the volume control of the iPod? Sure I could plug the Nano into my PC and play the tunes on it through my PC speakers whilst the Nano is docked, but I've already got all my tunes on my PC, in iTunes. That's why the iPod is synchronising with it!!!! A headphone socket would have been much more useful. As things stand I have to put the iPod into the stand to sync/charge it and then take it out to listen to it on my headphones. Grrr... Apple, think about it!! Another *minor* niggle. The iPod comes in black or white, so why does the dock only come in white? Given the choice, I'd rather plug my black nano into a blank dock.
