Product Description The Proporta Palm Tungsten E / Tungsten E2 Series Aluminium Case is beautifully designed and finished to meet the exact specifications of your Palm handheld. Made from a lightweight, aircraft grade aluminium with a tough anodised finish, it also includes a soft, protective neoprene lining to keep your device as snug as a bug in a… you get the idea. Cut outs give access to ports and controls so that you can still use your device whilst it’s in the case. Your device can also be docked in your vehicle using the Proporta Magnetic Vehicle Docking System (Car Kit) – which is ideal for use with our GPS Navigation systems.

much better than standard case July 12, 2008 Dr John (Tayside) My old case gave up the ghost after 2 years of daily use; the fabric hing tore. This case seems robust, fits my Tugsten E easily and remains compact. I'm very happy with it.
Strong protective case - excellent April 20, 2008 D. J. Kippax (Tyne & Wear, England) Purchased new Tungsten E2 and didn't want to damage, carry in brief case. This case does exactly what it is designed for. Perfect fit, strong and robust.
Not a good buy March 19, 2008 J. Brooks (Worcestershire UK) This case simply did not fit my Tungsten E2, and it suffered immediate damage in my attempt to insert the E2. For me it is a disappointing & unusable purchase.
Fits My E2 Perfectly November 20, 2007 M. Sims (UK) This case seems both well designed and well manufactured, and it seems pretty tough too. All of the connection sockets (headphone, charging and sync) are accessible without removing the case, as are the on/off button and stylus. I find the case is just a little difficult to open in a hurry, but I guess thats better than it falling open when not required. Overall I am happy with this product.
A Very Good Case November 8, 2007 Michael Stevens (Wales) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used a Proporta Aluminium Case with my Palm Tungsten E for a number of years and I found it a very solid and reliable accessory. I carry my Palm with me virtually all the time, usually in a trouser pocket, so my Palm is subject to constant knocks bumps and scratches (and the occasional drop onto a hard floor). Under these circumstances, the attractive brushed aluminium case soon picked up a number of bumps and scratches, which, to my mind, added character to the case. However, throughout its lifetime, with the protection of the Proporta Aluminium Case my Palm Tungsten E remained pristine. When my Tungsten E expired of natural causes a few months ago, my employer bought me an E2. I insisted that they also bought me a new Proporta case to protect their investment in my clumsy hands. Although I've only used it a few months, my new case has also begun to pick up a few scratches, which is to be expected considering the life that my Palm leads. I haven't tried my new Palm in the old Tungsten E case but the only obvious cosmetic difference between this case and the old one is that the new case sports a grille of 10 drilled holes about one third of the way down the back, presumably to accommodate the speaker of the Palm which lurks beneath. The small square cut-out for the speaker of the Tungsten E remains a feature of the new case, so I imagine that is design would accommodate both models of Palm. Unlike another reviewer on this site, I had absolutely no problems getting my Tungsten E2 to fit in the new case. The case seems to offer a perfectly snug fit, so I would urge potential purchasers not to be put off by other comments that they may have read in respect of this matter (I was almost put off by this comment myself, which is my only reason for writing this review). The only negative comment that I can make about this product is that, since the case supports a full set of cut outs so that just about every feature of the Palm (headphone socket, memory card slot, hotlink cable socket, etc) can be accessed without opening the case, the large number of cut outs on the top edge of the case means that this part of the case can be slightly more susceptible to damage as a result of a hard knock in this area. This happened once with my old case, (although, again, the device was unharmed) but it was easy enough to bend the old case back into shape. Obviously, since this case is full of holes, your Palm isn't going to be protected to much from liquids and splashes, if this is an issue for you. Possibly, if your palm spends most of its working life perched safely on your desktop, you might not see the point in investing a significant sum in a protective case, but, if your device spends it's life on the road, then a case is an essential investment and, in my opinion, the Proporta Aluminium Case is one of the best.
