Update your firmware! August 20, 2008 A. M. Bridgett (Macclesfield, UK) There have been a lot of comments in various forums about the network switching being poor. The early versions of the firmware were simply buggy. If you update to the latest firmware the network issues go away. Switching is no longer a problem and I now never have to reboot the phone. Battery life isn't brilliant - but there is an extended battery available. I love synching with work email and personal email which the 612 makes a breeze to do.
Great Product July 1, 2008 Mr. J. A. Devries (Port Talbot, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this product. Everybody has been asking me where I got it. There is a few minor issues with connectivity problems such as switching back and forth from GPRS to WI-FI and the battery life isn't very good at all. You can buy an extended battery which I am hoping to do. Overall it is a great product. For any business person I would recommend this..
I wouldn't bother July 1, 2008 Ricardo (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Battery life is terrible, a problem many people complain about, I was charging it in the office & at night. Connectivity is hopeless, it cannot easily switch connections resulting in you losing calls, emails not being delivered etc. This also cause MSN messenger to lose it's connection, although you cannot easily see this. I would send / recieve emails on the device (even though it was set up to do it automatically) & it would not connect to my server saying there was a error...yet I opened my email on the laptop & lots downloaded on different accounts. A reset would fix this, but I was resetting a couple of times a day at least. Memory management is not brilliant on it either, you'll need a 3rd party app to make sure progs are actually closed rather than minimised when you close them. GPS is ok, seemed to work but takes a while to find a satellite. I returned mine after spending the best part of 3 weeks trying to get it to work reliably...and failing. For the money, it is most definately not worth it.
