4 out of 5 stars Quick Reviews!   May 15, 2008

Creative Labs has a habit of making excellent top range products at a price that not only the super-rich can afford. This has enabled them to compete in a tough market, and be successful against much larger brands, and they have gained a loyal following of customers who know that their purchase will be reliable and of a high quality. With that in mind, Creative Labs bring us these simple, cheap, but effective earphones, primarily for use with MP3 players.

Why choose these over any other pair? Most people's choice will be made by looking at price and producer. The price is great- you get the same quality here as you would off certain other brands at double or triple the price. Having said that, i'm not the sort of person who would ever think of spending much more than this on a set of earphones, so personally i feel the price is just right. For those of you have used other Creative products, you know what you are paying for. For those who haven't, see my first paragraph.

These earphones have been designed for travelling, and are therefore lightweight and block out exterior noises- traffic, voices, drunks. They also come with a couple of extra pairs of alternate sized earphones, so you should find one which fits you. Most importantly, the sound quality passed through these is very good, boasting a strong bass and no hissing or ghostly interference. The most common complaint seems to be that they break quite easily. A few reviewers have mentioned that here, and we should have no reason to doubt them, but the vast majority of reviewers, and i assume users have not suffered from such problems.

So, high quality sound, cheap and easy to use earphones. Highly recommended for most people, though those of us who have superhuman hearing may prefer going for something more expensive to increase their listening pleasure.

3 out of 5 stars Block out sound but a big flaw   May 15, 2008

These headphones are really good- great sound quality, good fitting earpieces, and as they say, blocks out other sounds.
However, flcik the wire and it's like a bass drum going. NOT good for an MP3 as if you're moving about and it rubs on your clothes you can hear a backdrop of "bwobwobwob" to the music, im sure you know what noise im trying to get across. Great for static use but i really dont advise this for someone who uses their MP3 while playing sports or even walking for that matter.

2 out of 5 stars Good at first but didn't last long...   May 11, 2008

At first I fitted them correctly and thought the sound quality was great compared the standard iPod earphones.
Comfortable, good bass, clear treble;

BUT...

They only lasted 2 months and the right earphone stopped working almost completely, although i had not mistreated them.
Conclusion: Good, but they don't last long. You can get some Sony ones for the only 5 more, but they last longer.

I wouldn't buy this again...

5 out of 5 stars Worked For Me!   May 10, 2008

I needed a pair of headphones for my MP3 player and looked at the positive reviews and decided to try them. I followed the fitting instructions given by another reviewer. I nearly burst an eardrum because the volume was too high! Turn the volume down beore trying these, if fitted properly the sound level will be high. I found them very comfortable and they stayed put for me. I found the sound quality very good....especially given the low price.

2 out of 5 stars Depends on what you're used to   May 10, 2008
Nigel S. D'souza (London, England)
Sorry guys/gals....this won't be a good review.

A bit of background: I'm a professional musician who has spent a lot of time doing sound production. So I'm pretty particular about sound quality.

The first thing the struck me the second I put these headphones in my ears is that there were NO MID FREQUENCIES. All that came out was a horribly colour-less sound. Sure, there was all the bass in the world and a lot of treble (which, incidently, neither sounded good nor is it good to have in your ears in terms of long term hearing loss) but the mids were sorely lacking. The guitars and snare drum had no tone to them.

Again, I reiterate that I can be very particular about sound quality and it's entirely possible that the casual listener won't notice the difference/it won't bother them. I, however, could not deal with the way these earphones altered the sound.

Amazon were absolutely top notch and did a full refund in a timely manner. Double thumbs up for their customer service.

I'm afraid I just plain don't recommend them. I don't claim to have tried the shure e2c's or the sennheiser models but I will say this much: this product let me down. Again, if you're into mega bass and treble, these will probably do the job for you.
