Does what it says on the tin September 19, 2008 I. J. Elliott This product does exactly what it says it does. I need not say any more.
Very Expensive September 3, 2008 Mr. B. M. Pitcher (UK) Very Pricy, but works well. dvd quality piture. Sometimes bad picture as the av cable for picture needs adjusting sometimes (twisting etc) cables sometimes need manipulating to make the picture work, like with headphones that dont work where you need to move the cable in and out by the speaker bit to et a connection. very compliated and easily tangled. If there was another option i would buy that, but if you tire of watching films off tiny screens, then it is an essential until another company can make a chipped version to compete. (iPods made after 2006 all have a chip to stop other cables being used.
This Is Great (Depends On Quality of The Video...Of Course) July 14, 2008 Princess This arrived like a week before the estimated delivery time which is pretty cool. i love how my movies that i bought from itunes show in great quality even on larger screens. I reccommend it, i don't what i'd do without it.
OVER-PRICED - Abuse of Market Position April 19, 2008 Virtual-Stuart (Harvard Law School) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
For years, Apple whined about Microsoft and their abuse of their position in the market. Well, Apple has demonstrated their complete hypocrisy. As Apple has cornered the market on MP3 players, they've literally locked all other competitors out of the market with regards to AV output cables. All new Ipods have a chip inside of them, and this chip blocks any other AV cable from playing an iPod on a TV. Whereas the 2006 versions will work with any cheap AV cable that can be bought for just a few pounds, iPod is trying to charge 30 pounds for their "special" cable. It's a rip off, and I hope someone challenges them for it.
Good...for a cable February 14, 2008 Richard S (Glasgow) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is the cable you need if you want to display video / photos / Youtube clips from an iPod touch on a tv. At the moment, there is no alternative but to use Apple's own cable and pay their rather exorbitant price for it. I think Amazon have the best price for it right now, as the usual RRP is 35. Anyway, once I bit the bullet and shelled out for this cable I was very pleasantly surprised with what I got. The cable feels quite robust and of good quality. The quality of the output to tv is excellent as well. Of course it all depends on how good the source video/photo is but generally the results are very good. The one thing it doesn't do is output the internet display to tv (other than when it's Youtube clips or similar streaming videos). While you're watching video you can also have the iPod plugged in and charging so there's no worries of running out of battery power mid-way through a film. Included with the cable is an adapter for American power points too. This cable will output audio if you want to listen to music through tv speakers (or a stereo if you prefer). This cable definitely allows me to make greater use of my iPod touch and to that note I'd definitely recommend it.
