I bought this TV three weeks ago. The picture is adequate, the menus are below par, but the sound from the speakers is of a very poor quality, mainly because there is an audio compressor built in. Its threshold is set far too low, so everything (especially music) has a pumping, sucking sound, (Rather like recording audio on a cheap cassette recorder with automatic gain control.) The radio stations sound dreadful. Never mind, I thought, I'll use the audio outs to play sound out thru my hi-fi. Would you believe that the internal and external sounds are about 20 ms out of sync? This gives the appearance of watching a badly dubbed foreign movie. I also notice that the JVC internal speakers are out of sync with a Freeview box in the next room. It appears that the JVC delays the Audio/Video, but the outputs (Scart/phono, etc;) are not delayed. How a company can build a TV, in which the internal and external signals are different, is beyond me - Why bother to include audio outs at all if they are un-useable?
Excellent TV March 1, 2006 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
Working fine; easy set up; great picture quality; good connections for various hardware; only quibble would be the remote is very plastic & light (cheap!) and PIP cannot be accessed in purely TV mode it seems to only operate when connected to a PC. The info button on the remote details the current & next programme but nothing else. Overall this is a great buy, good price, size ok for bedroom or smaller rooms.
