Poor functionality May 17, 2008 D. Allan KING (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Simply found this pretty hard to use. I wanted this for committee meetings and note-taking - used it once or twice but hardly what I would call easy to upload to my PC. Frankly I would have been better off simply scanning pages and then tinkering with them, given the efforts I then went through. It all seemed pretty redundant to me.
Good bit of kit February 21, 2007 rjj (Surrey) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Not quite sure why this has been so slated by reviewers. I would have to agree that it is not cheap and it should be cheaper than it is. However, it does do exactly what it claims to do and there are no problems converting the written word into text for MS Word docs - it does this with the click of a mouse button and with highly impressive accuracy. I found that within half an hour of taking the thing out of the box I was able to create A4 documents and convert them into a MS word doc with amazing ease. The important thing to remember is that you should attempt to write fairly clearly (although it is very forgiving)and remember that the thing works by infra-red so make sure that there are no obstructions between the unit and the pen. I use this for studying and I make a lot of notes - this enables me to have a printed copy of these notes rather than trying to read handwriting when it comes to revision time. I guess that the uses are endless but if you do a lot of note taking then I highly recommend this product - even more so if you need to share notes such as minutes etc. Also, don't worry about getting pen refills - scanningpens.co.uk stock them in packs of 5 or 15.
Complete Rubbish November 4, 2004 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
This product only produces jpg files and is unreliable. I feel ripped off and bitterly disappointed.
Complete Waste of Money November 3, 2004 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
Its sounds too good to be true and it is. I am a real member of the public who has been bitterly disappointed. All this product does is produce jpeg files which could be just as easily done in MS paint. If you want to produce proper text in say MS Word, just forget it! It gives the impression it does but it doesn't. I emailed the manufacturers 4 times for advice and never received a reply. Its a useless product that doesn't do what it says on the tin. Please be warned and don't get ripped off like I did.
Amazing product, simple to use, great functionality July 14, 2004 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have been using this product for a couple of weeks now and I am thrilled. I can capture all my handwritten notes from meetings and conferences and then put them onto my computer. Whilst connected to my computer I can write directly into applications and move my captured text around very easily saving me time having to type it all up. Great!
