5 out of 5 stars Top pro cans, ideal for DJing.   October 23, 2006

I got these for DJing and they are superb. The neat minimal design isn't much to look at, which is something people will either love or hate. I like the lack of bling, makes them less attractive to thieves, but I suspect that might deter some who want to make more of a statement with their cans. They are well constructed, compact and lightwight, but the weight in no way affects the weight of sound ...which is huge.

The earcups are supra aural, which means they sit on the ear, rather than over it. The headband is fairly tight, making a snug fit, helping them isolate from extraneous sound very well, and they are pretty comfortable, with soft vinyl earpads.... although they can get sweaty with prolonged use in warm clubs.
Most of the parts are replaceable making them perfect as a working tool. The efficiency of the drivers is superb, allowing high volume levels if required and the bass response is exceptionally well extended, giving a very definite kick drum, making mixing easier. The well insulated earcups isolate sound really well, and they go loud if necessary. The sound is fast and dynamic with sparkling high notes. The plug is a mini jack, with 1/4 inch adaptor.

The only criticism of my pair is the shortness of the lead to the jack which can be a little limiting when you are trying to reach something a bit further away than your decks! ...but I have seen a more recent pair where they have remedied this. A no nonsense bit of pro kit for serious dj's. Highly recommended.
