Good Value for MoneySeptember 5, 2008 Afroclonk I bought these Headphones as a budget pair for DJ monitoring at home. My initial thoughts are that they are of good construction (feel weighty and well manufactured) and have a good appearance.
The only downside is that there is a vibration in the right earcup when listening to heavy bass. This can be quite irritating at times. I can't grumble too much though because at this price they're great.
Quality on a budgetAugust 9, 2008 Jp Williams(Wales) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these as a cheap monitoring pair to use as either a back up for my home recording system or for use when recording other vocals in sessions. I am a budget recorder and cannot justify spending large amounts of money on non essential kit that will probably only get used now and again.
They arrived well packaged and when they were finally loose from the grip of the packaging I first noticed the construction. They are a good solid weighty set and give the sense of something well made. The 'Stereo / Mono' switch at the side is a little cheap looking but other than that it is a well made piece of kit. The single lead from the phones is a bonus as I tend to wear them off one ear and phones with a lead from each earpiece were constantly getting pulled off my head when I caught them as I reached to do something. The lead itself is also very good running into a coiled section after about 30cms, plus the coil is not so firm that it is pulling at the headphones and sits well.
The adjustment on the earpieces is very good, allowing both up and down and pivotal adjustment on the cups, as well as the usual head size. The cups are possibly a little on the small size, I dont think I've got particularly large ears and they felt a little snug. The ear pressure is fine and I haven't found them to be too tight or uncomfortable with extended wear.
The sound is good, full and generally crisp though possibly a little bassy in a neutral setting.
All in all an excellent budget purchase that I think you would struggle to find in other phones under the 50 mark.
