Only just adequate November 15, 2008 A. Nicholaou (Winchester, UK) I bought it based on a couple of misleading good reviews only to find out that it isn't that good. I use it mostly at night and it struggles unless I have a strong light in my face. Even during the day the colours are off. The clip is dodgy too - it holds on precariously to my laptop lid. If your laptop lid is thick forget it. How stupid, a laptop webcam that cannot fit properly onto a laptop. Notebook Pro get real! For the money you can say it is just about OK (if it holds onto your laptop lid) but if you like a better quality image where the colours are close to real and don't need a search light in your face then go for a more expensive logitech.
The clip's not much use! August 20, 2008 W. Kemp (Essex, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The camera is great. The video quality is good and it works well with Linux. The big drawback, however, is that the clip is pretty much useless! It doesn't open wide enough for my laptop lid. I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad R61. It has a lip around the edge of the lid that brings the thickness to 20mm - which doesn't seem exceptionally thick for a laptop lid to me. If i'd realised this i wouldn't have bought it. No doubt it's ok for thinner lids though.
No built in microphone July 12, 2008 D. Watson (USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Purchased for my Niece so we could Skype across the Atlantic. When we set it up it does not have a built in microphone, you have to use the headset. Unless you sit there with the headset on you won't hear a Skype call. Not what I wanted and tech details did not make it clear.
Cracking Little Webcam! August 25, 2007 Monkey Boy (Hohne, Germany) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
For the money, this is an excellent product. The picture is pretty sharp and the refresh rate more than adequate for on-the-go laptop users. The package comes with a neoprene case which both the camera and the included earpiece/microphone combo fit in to and easily fits in a laptop bag/pocket. The earpiece is perfectly sufficient but the microphone, as with so many others is very quiet unless you hold it to your mouth. Creative could have made this a 5 star package with a decent headset included. Definitely recommended for those who travel a lot!
Not that good December 19, 2006 kwaker5 (Suffolk, UK) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
This might be OK for the money and the software is good but I think the picture is poor. I had a zicplay which was better than this but let down by dodgey software.
