Product Description This Super G3 laser fax transmits documents at 3 seconds per page so phone costs are reduced and less time is spent standing at the machine. Multiple faxes can be received without blocking the line saving even more time. Lengthy documents can also be scanned rapidly before transmission and are then sent automatically from memory. The FAX-L380S features a Departmental ID...

This is not a sturdy office fax August 22, 2007 Neil (Herts, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We use Canon machines at work - copiers and fax. Our old but sturdy Canon L300 fax finally died after many years of good service so I thought this would be an ideal replacement. The L300 was strong and tough, the buttons still worked after who knows how many users had jabbed at them with it's-an-office-machine-so-I-don't-care attitude, just the paper feed had finally given up and repair was uneconomical. This one is not cheap, but I don't mind paying for quality. Opened the box and was shocked. It's a flimsy, brittle, plastic device. The feed and output trays will disappear (they only stay in by little plastic lugs); the paper tray is wobbly, fragile and you have to clip the thing together. It has now been returned. The beancounters at Canon have dropped the ball on this one. For 100 less I bought a Brother fax. Strong paper tray, reasonable output area, etc. The Brother is a keeper. I won't buy another Canon sight unseen. I think it rates 2 stars because it's easy to set up and quick in operation. Just don't expect it to last like Canons of old. Prime example of how to lose a loyal customer.
