Lovely bit of Kit July 2, 2008 mr medusa (London, UK) Extremely pleased with this purchase. Although I haven't tried every feature yet - printing and copying give excellent results - with decent speed. I like the interface to the features and the facility to feed paper from either a cassette or the rear of machine. As other reviewers have stated, it takes about 45mins to 1hr to set-up ready for use, but the instructions and software install are easy to follow. My only gripe and the reason I didn't give 5 stars (would like to give 4 and a half, but that's not possible) is no USB cable is provided to connect to the PC ? Every printer I've ever had previously - provided all the necessary bits - so why can't Canon - especially as it's only a few pounds worth of kit. That said I do believe this machine is the best in it's class and relatively cheap too, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
my 2nd Canon printer June 23, 2008 Michael S. Stewart (Bushey Heath, Herts. UK) I am delighted with the results. Yes it is rather a biggy, but never mind, I now no longer need to find space for a seprate scanner! I have owned a Canon iP5000 for the last 3 1/2 years and I was very pleased with it. It was the best so far. Unfortunately, my new PC has Vista home premium 32 and although the photo print results improved enormously after I had downloaded the correct drivers (The initial results before, where dreadful with Vista) the photo printing was still not up to what I had been used to. I shall keep the iP5000 to use with my lap top in another room, just for text etc. The MP610 is fairly easy to use for standard work, and is very fast, but if you want to use the various cropping and photo editing facilities, which are extensive, then there is quite a lot to learn. The photo printing results could be described as magazine quality - to me at any rate. I would thoroughly recommend it, always assuming it will fit on your desk !!
What a beast, but works great June 19, 2008 K. Marcus (london, uk) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace my old Epsom all-in-one that suddenly gave up the ghost, and decided on a Canon after unanimous good reviews. I'm not disappointed - the printer was easy to setup, and prints at pro-quality super fast! Haven't tried any of the other features yet but it all looks great. My only gripe is the massive size but it does all fold away quite neatly. Also the setup cd didn't work on my ibook but I was able to download the drivers from the Canon site.
Brilliant piece of kit! June 13, 2008 Spa Creative Limited (Shropshire) Ok, first the bad, and it's not really bad! This beast is bigger than a 1980's video recorder! It is indeed a monsterous piece of equipment! So that's it, the bad part, it's massive. Now for the good! It's solid as a rock, you could use it to lay the foundations of your house! It's scan and print quality is perfect, well, it is for me. I'm using this at work after begging the boss for a new printer/scanner/copier and it's proving an incredible investment for the price! It's worth it's weight (and it's a lot of weight!) in gold! As I do all the invoicing and quoting for the business, amongst other bits and pieces, it's also a big bonus to be able to load the headed paper in one feed and plain paper in the other feed. No more changing paper depending on the requirement, great! I have a Canon printer and seperate scanner at home and have always been impressed by them, they influenced my decision to buy Canon again, and I don't regret it one bit! It's also possible to use this as a fax through the pc, but I haven't sussed that bit out yet! Set up did take a while, but wasn't difficult and I found the instructions easy to follow. Would I recommend it, absolutely yes! Just measure your space first!
Canon MP 610 June 4, 2008 Mr. Denis Cole (Canterbury, Kent, UK) I am very impressed with his printer. Print quality is good, scanner works well, good reproduction on copying it's easy to use and I think it has Exceptional value. Printed a photo taken by mobile phone on normal paper and was very impressed with the quality.
