Product Description The FinePix F100fd is a digital camera designed with wide angle photography in mind. The FinePix F100fd benefits from an increased dynamic range thanks to its 28 mm wide-angle optical zoom and its 12-megapixel CCD sensor. Images are always of the best quality, because the F100fd incorporates an RP II processor to enhance colour and details. The F100fd also has a wide array of exposure and automatic white balance modes to choose from, which make it easy to adjust the cameras settings to your shooting conditions. Bright lighting, shade and overexposure are no longer a problem either, as the F100fd is filled with different advanced technologies, such as a face detection function, which emphasises your subjects smiles without altering the quality of the overall shot. With all these fantastic features on board, you're guaranteed equally fantastic shots with the FinePix F100fd!

Amazing little camera November 2, 2008 Svavar O. Svavarsson (London, England) This camera is amazing. I've owned 2 other ones in this line (and managed to lose one and destroy the other) and this one is a big improvement over the F50 I had before. The pictures it takes are amazing and the auto mode is excellent. I just wish it took MPEG4 videos. If it did that I'd ask Amazon for a 6th star.
Not up to scratch! Fujifilm FinePix F100fd Digital Camera - Silver (12.0MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7" LCD October 6, 2008 Louise Dixon 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had three compact Fujis and have been very pleased with them. Not so with this one. The colours were distorted, especially in reduced lighting, such as inside a church. I returned the camera to Camera Box and after a very annoying two months was relieved to receive a refund. I would not deal with Camera Box again.
Seriously great September 4, 2008 Ed Chipolata (Chichester, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this camera just before the summer for my summer holidays. I have had 7 cameras from Fujifilm over the years, and always been impressed by 2 things - the ease of use and the richness of the photos. This one proves no different. It is brilliantly quick to switch on, and when it does the LCD screen amazes - it is so detailed and the colours are so good. The wide angle also proves a huge bonus, and coupled with the large 5x zoom it means that a surprisingly large amount of new photo opportunities appear. Face Detection is advertised a lot in the press for this camera, but to be honest it's a bit of a gimmick. It works and it's fine, but you never actually use it. You just show your friends to make them go "woah". On the styling front, it looks flawless and feels great to hold. 2 things annoy me a bit - the screen has no glass cover, so feels a little flimsy, and hooking up to the computer requires the software, as it cannot be treated as a disk drive. But other than that - great great great.
life in a barrel July 11, 2008 G. Bailey (UK) 28 out of 37 found this review helpful
very very dissapointing. The lens perfomance at the wide angle setting gives results worse than a single use plastic lens - the complete inability to render a straight line as anything other than a barrel shape made me return this camera. I have used Fuji cameras for 20 years including the previous digital models - this is the worst. avoid it. Back to my Samsung NV20

First shot I took (low light, indoors at night) I could see the pink banding problem! Upgraded the firmware & I haven't seen it since. I hummed and hah'ed becuase of the pink banding but now I'm very happy with my purchase. The images are really *really* vivid. I had a chance to pit this camera against my mates TZ (can't remember the exact model, but it's last years model)....the Fuji won in every photo class. I'm not some happy snapper...I'm seriously into photography (have SLR & a host of dedicated lenses), so when I say I'm anal about this stuff....you can be sure that if I'm satisfied that I'm a tough cookie to please. Only downside to date, is the 'wheel of fortune' menu dial. For example if you want to go to video recording mode & you happen to started turning the dial the wrong way, it can be about 12-15 clicks away before you get the mode you want! In short...if you're hesitant because of thepink banding (like I was) - don't be. In real life it won't be a problem...& you'll simply just have stunning photos.
