1 out of 5 stars So Bad   August 18, 2008

Terrible router. I paid seventy quid for mine and i swear i cant stay connecteted to the internet for more than ten minutes.

If you use firefox, get used to seeing "problem loading page".

Did anybody actually test this piece of crap before they decided to ship them across the world. I wouldn't mind but its not like it has to do anything else.....just connect and stay connected to the internet.

The last Netgear item i ever buy.

Good Luck.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic value for money & easy setup   July 29, 2008
Mrs. K. A. Goddard (Manchester, UK)
Hi, I am only fourteen (Mrs. K A Goddard being my mum!) and managed to set up this modem easily in about 20 minutes. I use it for linking up to the net on my laptop, PSP and desktop PC - ***works like a charm***! I chucked out my old TalkTalk connect & go modem which was a load of rubbish and replaced it with this high speed and easy to use wireless Netgear modem. Although it had to be shipped over to Manchester (UK) from somewhere in America, it arrived surprisingly quickly (two days after order). Well done Amazon and Netgear!!

5 out of 5 stars good value for money   July 20, 2008

Bought this router a couple of weeks ago and it works fine. The only thing I found was that even with the set up wizard the terminology was not clear. I phoned the Netgear helpline and the customer service was very good and explaint everything. The router was up and running 20 minutes later. I only wish they leave easier to understand instructions for all users.

I'm no computer duffer, but to be honest, this is the biggest load of junk that i have EVER had the misfortune to use.
Two phone calls to Netgear's support line still didn't get me up and running properly - yes, i got it working (finally), but only if it was hard wired to the computer - the wireless side of it simply didn't want to know.
A word of warning - you HAVE to be able to hardwire this to your computer to get it set up - a slight problem as my main computer does not have a network socket on it, only wireless. Not a great start - had to set it up using my laptop, which didn't have all the internet settings on it (as i always use it via the router i already have - a Zyxel - another pile of junk, but at least it works - just slowly and unpredictably)
I'm running out of patience with these router things to be honest - as i said at the start, i'm not stupid when it comes to computers, but these things are just baffling to me.......
