Rebuttal January 6, 2007 A. O'Brien 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I've just upgraded to full studio quality monitors and am in the process of selling these speakers. My review of them is that they are very good speakers for the money you're paying, but that's not why I'm writing this. I just want to clear up a few comments made by the reviewer five below me. First, speakers don't have drivers (although one of the names used for a speaker is a driver.) Sound cards have drivers. What the man was looking for was a driver for his sound card, speakers do not provide or even have software drivers. Secondly, his concern about the sub woofer not being wall mountable. Sub woofers are never wall mountable. The vibrations from a sub woofer would loosen any mount fixings in days, maybe even hours, causing a bad accident. Also, part of the fun of sub woofers is the vibrations they transfer through the floor. Thirdly, the cable provided for PC > woofer has a perfect length for most people. And finally, you can't connect these speakers to a DVD player. I wrote this because I didn't want anyone to be put off buying a perfectly good set of speakers due to someone's ignorance.
Very Nice November 10, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ive been using heaphones for the past year or so since my last set of speakers was broken and buying a new set was put off again and again.Im extremely glad i didnt put it off any longer. After some trouble with my sound drivers i managed to download the latest drivers and listen to all 5 speakers. Im very impressed at the quality of the sound being produced and was well worth the money spent. They have added a new level of exitement to my music and games and it was well worth the money i put aside this week to get them. I would recomend these speakers to my friends and family if they are looking for a 5.1 setup, im sure they would enjoy them just as much as i am. They came around 9:30 in the morning right on time. They were well packaged and had clear instructions on how to set them up. No hassle or anything that was over complicated and within 30 minutes i had them arranged on my desk next to myself to test them out.
Awesome September 14, 2005 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been searching for the right speakers to go with my soon to be alienware system. At first i wanted some 7.1 speakers but decided to opt out for a cheaper option and came across the creative inspire T5900 on amazon.i read all the reviews which were really helpful and i agree with all of them.....These speakers kick ass, big fat ass. For teh price they are unbeatable. The bass liteally shakes my room on full volume and i ahven't even dared try full volume on everything! On my current system i don't have a soundcard that supports 5.1 so i can only use the 2 mains and the sub, and it still rocks! i can't wait to be able to embrace them in all their glory The box was nicely packed and everything was easily assmebled. All the cables are just the right length but you will need to buy extra stands or wall mounts if you don't have any desk space behind you. Music palys brilliantly as long as the actual file is of good quality (i.e playing of CDS is fine but some iffy downloads will sound horrible - not the speakers fault though) Games - well it really does triumph here. Never have i heard half life 2 sound so beasty, and it mad it more scary! DVD- well i would love to comment but as i said i only use the 2 mains and the sub so it doesnt do anything justice. so in conclusion. Great speakers for a great price, you certainly get more then you payed for.....and i have said all this without using it in full 5.1 surround sound yet! i must be mad!
Great speakers, great sound! August 14, 2005 J. Bayliss (Nottinghamshire, UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
These speakers are an excellent way to bring affordable surround sound to your home. You should have no problems hooking them up to a soundcard with 4 channel, 5.1 or 7.1 sound output via the three seperate 3.5mm jacks. I would recommend the Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS or it's notebook equivalent to use as a soundcard. These will produce the best output and are both fully compatible with the speakers. The Audigy 2 ZS for Notebook is especially useful as it slides into the PCMCIA slot in your laptop for compact yet effective sound output. To summarize, these are a great buy with crystal clear sound quality, BUY THEM!
Brilliant upgrade August 6, 2005 Mr. R. Smith 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have just taken delivery of these speakers, my first venture into 5.1 on the PC. Connected them up within 10 minutes via my Audigy 2 card (very easy to follow instructions) and fired them up. Absolutely brilliant!! I am amazed at the sound quality these produce, crystal clear whether playing CD's, DVD's, MP3 files or games. I have a very expensive home theatre system set up in my living room, and I am now enjoying similar quality sounds from my computer! Played Delta Force Extreme online last night and you can really hear the bullets whizzing past your head and thudding into the ground behind you. And if I were having a party or a get together I would be more than happy to let the computer, via these speakers, provide the entertainment. Don't understand what the previous poster meant about downloading drivers? Certainly not needed here. The seperate on/off/volume control is very useful, allowing you to alter the whole system or increase/decrease the sub very easily. With the addition of two input jacks for either headphones or external MP3 player etc. it makes life very easy. If, like me, you are thinking of going 5.1 then these speakers are a very affordable way to go. I would recommend them to anybody. Delivery was good, arriving within 4 days of order using the "free delivery" option. One of my better purchasing decisions (and I've made some "monkey" ones over the years). My advice? Buy now
