Good but not great. June 13, 2007 S. Hounsell (Surrey, UK.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'd give this 3.5 out of 5. The main thing speakers do is produce sound. Given that these are small portable speakers, the sound clarity is good, plenty of mids and highs, but unsurprisingly, it lacks any real low frequencies which spoils the mix in my opinion. The actual maximum volume is a little disappointing, and the speakers distort at this level. My other gripe is the cheap looking power button and volume slider. On the plus side though, the thing looks pretty slick, holds all types of ipods (with little plastic inserts), supports a wide variety of international power plugs, and has good battery life. All in all, I would perhaps look at saving up and getting the IM3 for that improvement in sound - I am starting to wish I had.
Im11 super Travel Speakers May 16, 2007 J. J. Frake (Reading UK) Well built, matches my Ipod (60Gb) very well. The sound is clear and fills a room out of all proportion to the size of the speakers. Compact enough to travel in backpack or luggage and sit on any hotel room surface. Reproduction is better at Travelling Wilburys than Led Zeplin but you would need 2-3 times the physical size to improve on that aspect. You can sync while Ipod is in Dock and the beast has an aux input for a radio or other. Flexible and Highly Recommended! Johnyjf Reading
Good Low end product August 3, 2006 C. Ward (Cambs, Uk) 32 out of 35 found this review helpful
I bought the Altec Lansing IM11 mainly as I needed some portable IPOD speakers that ran from Batteries for when I go camping. The price is very good considering the quality and so far one set of batteries has given me aprox 5 hours of play time and still running. I was slightly disapointed in the Bass level of the speakers (hence 4 stars) but the actual quality is very clear and the sound travels well. If you are after speakers that you want in the home but with the option to travel with. I would probably advise against buying these. But for a travel set, they are ideal.
cost- effective January 22, 2006 J. C. Heley 37 out of 52 found this review helpful
Designed for iPod users looking for more cost- effective ways to share their music while not sacrificing quality sound, the inMotion iM11 provides a great amplified extension of your iPod. The iM11's superior MaxxBass technology and specially- engineered drivers give this compact system surprisingly clear sound and deep bass - without the need for a subwoofer. Running on AC or batteries and weighing less than one pound, the iM11 is the perfect travel companion. It fits easily in a backpack or beach bag, and its extended battery life gives users complete listening freedom..
