I bought this wireless adaptor to try out as all others i have tried did not work on my computor, but this one did, and it's verry siple to install i didn't even have to look at the instructions all i did was plug it in, then it asks for the hardwere or driver i put the disk in and it found it, click next next and haypresto just look for your wirless reciver and put in your code. Done, the best adaptor ive had.
First Class, No problems June 17, 2008 Mr. K. Larkins (Hampshire, UK) This is the second one I have brought, loaded the Drivers, plugged it in, worked first time with no hassle, great for the price, would recomend this any time.
wonderful little piece of kit! June 13, 2008 Hodroulis (Leeds, UK) I ran into problems recently when the built-in wireless modem on my laptop failed. I first tried using a Lucent Technologies wi-fi card that plugs into the PCMCIA slot, but all this did was freeze my machine every time I tried to install it. I bought this LM adapter on the basis of the very positive feedback it had received from other Amazon customers. It arrived within 24 hours and took all of a minute to install - simply plug it in, insert the driver disk, follow the Wizard, and then it's done. It worked first time, and connected me straight to my Netgear router. The connection strength is very good, despite there being a couple of rooms between the laptop and router. I can't recommend this piece of equipment highly enough - simple, effective and low-cost - a star buy!
a great adaptor for a great price!!! February 7, 2008 Jasper 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
after what seemed like an age trying to find an adaptor that would work with an orange livebox i stumbled across this and decided for 14 i couldnt go that much wrong. I'm glad i got it, installed straight away (as another reviewer says plug the adaptor in and then insert disc.) thats it that was it installed. Found and Connected to the live box straight away, (if you have a livebox follow oranges instructions and dont forget to put the livebox in pairing mode by pressing the one button on the side) entered the security codes for the livebox and was away. connected to the room directly above the router and it has never dropped the connection so far, and always hovers around 3-4 bars, which isnt exceptional but its good enough for most people's needs, its a modest 54mbs which is good for the price. the only minor drawback, (which is pretty common, is the size, its quite wide for a usb device and so may obstruct any other usb points. It gets a little hot but not so hot that it'll burn a hole in your desktop. sure it might not be the top of the range adaptor but it is a great and reliable (so far) adaptor, which im using to write this review right now :D
