Product Description Allcam's years of experience in portable and external storage market brings this beautiful & convenient 3.5" hard drive enclosure. The Allcam U35S Silver Navigator USB2.0 3.5" Hard Drive enclosure is the sister of the popular BlackCyclone II enclosure. The newly designed caddy has sleeky feeling corners and much improved accessibility by placing all the control buttons in the front. What is a hard drive enclosure for? Just insert an normal internal 3.5" inside this Black Cyclone II enclosure, you will get an external hard drive which works simply by plugging into a USB 2.0 or Firewire port of a computer. Still not sure, check this step by step guide: How to make a external hard drive. Accessories include USB2.0 AB cable, AC adapter, Quick-start Guide, Driver in CD-ROM (only required for windows 98) For guide on how to install a 3.5" hard drive into this caddy, check here: http://www.allcam.biz/support/fixblackcyclone.htm

Good Service July 28, 2008 J. Martin (North Shields United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I received the device I was more than happy it had arrived on time. This was short lied in that like one of the other reviews the USB light was lit but not the power light. I contacted the retailer via Amazon and they agreed immediately to replace the faulty power supply. This arrived on time and I have already tried 2 XP hard drives from an old PC on my Vista machine without ny issues. I cannot fault the retailer for something that was faulty however I do commend them on their prompt reply to my mail and the suggestion of the replacement power supply.
Good price, good product. June 24, 2008 Mrs. R. Sapia This product may be cheap but it works well! The transfer rates are pretty fast and overall vey realiable. I reccommend this product to anyone who has alot of data and travels alot! The only downside is that the cooling is pretty much useless as the fan is in a rediculous place and the hard drive is really hard to put in the case.
Good External HDD Case April 23, 2008 Mr. D. J. Jones 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This arived very quickley Getting into the case was a bit fiddley at first but soon found out how to do it without reading instructions. I did have anitial problems getting it to work at first, but this I found out later that it was the jumpers on the HDD Drive was not set corectly you have to ensure that he HDD is set to master. Now it is working fine and I am able to get the files I needed of my old Internal HDD and for the price it is well worth it as I did not want to spend a fortoon on a external HDD case because I only wanted it to get some files of a old ide HDD I had in a old PC as my new PC is Satta only and found this case is well worth it, looks cool and reasonably priced for what I needed it for.
Quick, easy and very reliable December 17, 2007 Keith Mcknight (UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I went for the Black case (SATA cable). Not only does it look simple, it is very simple to fit a new SATA HD and connect up. No screws, just quick release clips and you're away. I've had *other* makes and models of external HD cases and this one fits the bill perfectly. Ooh yes, the fan hasn't become noisy yet (if it does then it's simple to disconnect). I've also had no issues with transferring files from a few KB to 50 or so GB. Highly recommended!
Totally useless September 7, 2007 Mr. Raymond Marco 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I needed to extract data from some old hard drives so, rather than install them in PCs, I thought this Hard Drive Enclosure was the answer. I tried with 3 drives and only one of them worked. The other two, Windows XP Pro recognises them as a Mass Storage Device, but Device Manager says no drivers are installed for this device. Windows tries to load drivers, but fails everytime. I have confirmed that the drives are OK, because I have now installed them in a PC (one as master and the other as slave). I now have access to all my data - but no thanks to this device. I only hope they will take this useless piece of kit back !
