Tweek needed January 3, 2008 Purdus (East Sussex) Despite following instructions I have given up with this kettle. The lid does not fit correctly allowing steam to escape therefore the whistle doesn't work. Despite leaving it to stand after boiling it still splutters water and the lid falls off. I love the design but think it needs a little tweeking!!
What a Fabulous Little Kettle! June 12, 2006 C. A. Davies (England) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Although I had one or two hiccups when using this fabulous little kettle, here are my useful hints to get the best out of it: 1. Make sure the holes in the whistle are positioned to the side. 2. When you put it on the stove, make sure you have the gas on the highest setting (so it builds up a head of steam). 3. Once it's boiled (as indicated by charming peeps from the whistle) turn it off and leave it for 30 seconds while you prepare your teapot/cup so it won't splash (ie still be boiling) when you pour it. I love it and hope you do too.
At last, a REAL kettle! July 15, 2004 Amazon Reviewer 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Stylish enameled steel stove top kettle, suitable for all heat sources including ceramic hobs, which makes a pleasant change! Typical brilliance from 'Le Creuset'. A kettle that really looks like a kettle instead of these dreadful 'modern day' pretenders! A shrill whistle gets your attention and that cup of tea tastes so much better too!
A real let down! May 26, 2004 13 out of 24 found this review helpful
I bought this nice stylish kettle and chucked my old faithful cheapie away... too soon! The kettle splashes all over the place when you pour, the whistle is not attached and mine stopped whistling within a few weeks, and the handle on the lid keeps on coming unscrewed. It's really bad and a total let down considering how much it costs, the reputation of the company, and its stylish appearance.
