very poor September 9, 2008 ryde (uk) I was not at all happy with my new, and not cheapest kettle. It does not look like the picture, it does not have the logo as shown which actually makes a surprising difference. The handle becomes VERY hot, way too hot to lift without a glove or towel. The whistle is very soft if it works at all. The kettle became quickly discoloured and I did not find it easy to clean completely.
Beware of the picture July 9, 2008 Hannah C. Langston (Birmin'am) Although the kettle works fine, it should be noted that it does not come with the Wesco plaque on, as pictured.
Love it! February 12, 2008 Mrs. T. A. Delaney (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read the reviews carefully before buying this kettle and was concerned that I was going to be as disappointed as the others. But I have to say that all the problems that the others have encountered simply haven't happened to me. The lid fits tightly, the whistle is Very loud and the handle hasn't got too hot. I am delighted with my new kettle, it looks the part and has so far been wonderful. I suggest you take a chance with it!
I like it... June 14, 2007 Tinkerbelle (London) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The only reason this did not get a 5 rating is because of the handle. It does get hot, but I have found that if I only boil enough water for what I need then it does not become too hot to handle. A great energy saving device I'd say. It looks very pretty in my kitchen and I like it. No chips and easily cleaned with stainless steel cleaner to remove any marks, resulting in the kettle looking brand spanking new. It should be noted that the above picture shows a WESCO label on the kettle. It does not come with any lables on the outside. However, the WESCO brand is stamped on the bottom. I would recommend this kettle ;-)
Looks good, shame about the handle and whistle! February 27, 2007 A. Laing (Hampshire, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This kettle looked fantastic in our new kitchen. Unfortunately, my step-daughters could no longer make tea because the handle got too hot - especially when left to boil for the 3-4 minutes tea retailers tell you to let water boil for before making your pot of tea. However, this became a moot point when the whistle didn't work one day (not the first time, I might add) and the kettle boiled so dry that all the cream enamel paint went black and peeled off! Seems to be a case of much style, no substance. Very disappointing!
