Wonderful book! June 16, 2008 Patsy Poo (Ossett, West Yorkshire, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've only recently started having a go at making my own bread - and by that I mean a couple of weeks ago! However, I decided to invest in a couple of books so I would be able to make something different as well as basic plain everyday bread. And man am I glad I did it! The book arrived less than a week ago and I've done nothing ever since other than make bread! All the recipes are very clear, easy to understand and the sheer variety of them left me gobsmacked. If you're thinking about getting this book, just do it! You won't regret it! I'm certainly glad I bought it.
Very good, lots of recipes. Can't wait to try them all! January 14, 2008 Mimi (UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Pleasantly surprised to find this was a ringbinder book. LOTS of mouth-watering recipes! I have tried several of them and they were great! (The apple/ginger cake was delicious!) Lots of very detailed info on breadmakers and traditional breadmaking/making dough etc. Thumbs up from me.
look no further for a Bread recipe book December 12, 2007 Read Alot (England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
If you enjoy making and eating bread and dough related food, then this is the book for you, and the only bread recipe book you will ever need to buy. There is a chapter at the start which explains all the basics and outlines what you need to know about tins, yeast, etc. I've been baking bread for years but I learned a great deal from the first few pages of this book. It is beautifully written and illustrated, and like another reviewer I love the ring binder style. All recipes imaginable from basic white loaf, brioche, malt loaf, lardy cake, hot cross buns, paninis, tortillas, pitta, ciabatta, all manner of fruit loaves, as well as muffins and breadcrumb recipes such as tuna melts. All recipes for breadmakers and hand bakers. I tend to use a food processor to make dough and everything I have made so far adapts perfectly. This book lives in our lounge so I can glance at it in the evening, many times I have planned what I will have a go at the next day! Even caught my husband having a look at it, it really is a most appealing book! A real find, go ahead and buy it, you will be very pleased you did.
Easy and delicious January 16, 2007 A. C. Bevan (Penzance, UK) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Bought this when I got a breadmaker and I have used it for everything since - basic bread, fancy breads, pizza base, rolls, nan bread etc - and it has all been utterly simple and utterly delicious! Have already bought one additional copy as a present and am about to buy it again for someone else. Brilliant: highly, highly recommended.
I'll never buy a supermarket loaf again! July 28, 2005 McDravid (Ripon) 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I've been baking bread both by hand and with a breadmaker on and off for a few years, with passable but not brilliant results. Then I bought this book and I just can't stop baking bread! I haven't done anything like all the 365 recipes, but every one I have tried has been a success and brought compliments from satisfied tasters. Her breadmaker recipes are terrific and it encourages you to adapt her recipes to create your own masterpieces. As I said in the title, once you have started baking out of this book, you'll never buy another plastic-wrapped loaf from a supermarket again, and you'll be curling your lip up and smirking as you stroll past their bread shelves.
