This cleaner was the last of the good panasonics. Our previous cleaner was a panasonic bought in 1991 and kept going right through to 2002. We then bought this machine. Very sturdy, good suction on both tools and beater bar and then beater bar off switch is fantastic for cleaning the lino in the kitchen and the laminate in our hallway. Unfortunalty, the new panasonics burn out very easilly. This is the last of the great uprights. So if your thinking of buying a different panasonic upright, don't.

This machine worked fabulously for the first 3 months and then steadily lost suction power to the point where my broom does a better job. Bitterly disappointed as my previous Panasonics have been top notch. Unfortunately I am unable to comment on what the cause of the problem might be or on the level of service from Panasonic as I relocated outside the UK. Sadly I recommended this machine to a friend (before I realised how bad mine was) who then had an identical problem.

I bought this as a refurbished machine from kinihsan on the strength of two very good customer reviews. It was delivered on time and exactly as promised and appears, on first trial, to be in very good working order.
The only two complaints I have are that the plate connecting the hose to the body had been replaced the wrong way round.This, although reflecting sloppy workmanship, was easy to put right.
More of a problem is the fact that the cable has obviously been run over more than once and while most are just superficial scuffs in one case the neutral wire is visible through the outer plastic covering.
In the light of the price I paid I am prepared to replace the cable but do think kinihasan need to pay closer attention to their quality control

We have looked at lots of vacuums since we got our puppy, we were recommended the Miele Cat & Dog or one of the outrageously priced Dysons but we just didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds on something that could go wrong at anytime. Then someone recommended the Panasonic MC-E468 - it has a carpet beater which basically means it beats the carpet as you vacuum therefore picking up more dust. It has a 3m hose on it so you can clean the stairs no problem. It cleans right up to the edges and corners and it has really stiff bristles on the rotating brush that pick up all the pet hair you can throw at it. All this and only just over 50 quid, it means if it does give up the ghost in a year, we can afford to buy another one! In saying that my mother-in-law has had hers for over 10 years, countless pets, acres of carpet and it still works like a dream! I've never used a vaccum cleaner that has worked better than this one, and I've tried Dysons, Miele's and even some specialist one's in the 1000's. IF YOU WANT A SPOTLESS, HAIR FREE CLEAN CARPET WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK THEN I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM CLEANER MORE HIGHLY !!!!
