Quick Reviews! June 30, 2008 carlosnightman (A Seat) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
How much does a hair cut for a man cost these days? Now I'm not talking about one of those fancy hundred pound, have a coffee while you wait, must be seen on Big Brother hair jobs. I mean a simple, once a month shave and trim at the local barbers. 5 pounds? 10 if you're really pushing the boat out? Well, here is the solution. With the HC363C you can save bucket loads, and save making idle chit chat about holidays and work by cutting your own hair in the privacy of your own home. With the curtains drawn if you wish. I like to keep my hair at a pretty uniform length, almost so that it looks like at never gets any longer or shorter. As i have quite bushy hair, this prevents the hassle of trying to control it when it gets long. Therefore I cut my hair once a fortnight. That's at least 24 haircuts a year, for a price of 17 pounds- saving at least 40 quid if you usually get it cut once a month. I cut my own hair, you can clean it and then let your brother use it, let your dad have a go, sort the kids with it, and even scare your wife/sister/mum. The only problem is trying to stop yourself chase the local kids around the streets with it. Seriously though, aside from saving a lot of money, this provides a good, clean cut, although if you're doing it yoursel if takes a few practice goes to get good, to get a technique which suits you. The blades are strong and sharp, cutting out the need to keep going over the same patch of hair. For a normal sized headed person like me, a cut usually takes less than 10 minutes. As well as this, the blades are ominously 'lubed for life' which means that you don't have to fork out for special gels or liquids to keep the blades moving. Indeed, that is one of the best features of this package- that it contains all the peripherals you will ever need inside a handy, classy case. Once you buy this, you won't need anything else, and as Remington are reliable you can sure these won't break down anytime soon. You get scissors which aren't too sharp, and can be fiddly tring to get that annoying tuft behind your ear, and a neat little brush to clean the hairs from the blades and from around your neck. Naturally there are different sizes of heads to facilitate any length of cut, from 'I want to be a hippy', to 'Skinhead's Paradise'. This set can also be used cordlessly, which is a definite plus as it stops the wire flapping about your face and takes away the temptation to bite it mid-cut. I have not had any problems with pulling, as sometimes clippers can feel like your hair is being pulled out one by one. Not with these, though sometimes a rare 'bad' pair may sneak onto the shelves. All in all, this is one of the best sets on the market for this price. It cuts well, and in whichever style you want it to (considering your ability as a cutter) . It is cheap, reliable, looks stylish, comes in a great box which stores all the attachments, anc can be stored easily itself. It comes with everything you need for a full hairdressing experience apart from a 15 year old sweeping hairs in the background and chewing bubblegum. Perfect.
does the job June 23, 2008 Mr. A. D. Cooper (Uk) After owning a Babyliss set for at least 5 yrs, the blades were going blunt, could not get replacements so searched on Amazon and bought these. Have to say been excellent, might have to cut a little slower but very good. They are light and easy to use.Charge up ok and ok to use when plugged into charger. Happy shopper.
Excellent value and quality May 30, 2008 ddinlondon I spent some time around Amazon searching for some decent clippers and decided to go for this one because of the positive reviews. Everything stores nicely into the box and all the equipment you need is there. The combs attach firmly onto the clipper so there is no paranoia that they might fall off. The cut was professional and there seemed to be more than enough battery for the duration of a full cut. The blades cut very well in the context that previous machines I used hair would jam the machine. Although much louder than other clippers I have no regrets and can only recommend this model to anyone.
Best clippers I've ever had April 25, 2008 Ms. A. J. Smith (Kent, UK) I bought these a few years ago and they've been used on my son, my fella, me and anyone else that wants a haircut. They've never let me down and have never felt like they're going blunt at all. They keep a good charge and you can plug them into the mains if you need some extra power. Easily enough good charge for one precise haircut. The combs slide on and fix securely to the clippers. I've had clippers before where the combs are fiddly to get on and the blades become slow or get jammed too easily and make you cross and stressed out! That's not the case with these clippers and I'd recommend you get them if you're worried about buying another set of clippers that will just let you down after a while. These wont. Believe me, I speak from years of experience.
Requires effort does work but weak combs April 11, 2008 Mr. N. D. Ryan 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ignored the reviews at my peril, the comb snapped on 2nd use, they are very weak with a thin slither of plastic holding them to the unit. The unit itself seems to take a considerable time to cut but gets there in the end, recommended, no...
