Glides through ice cream straight from the freezer August 18, 2008

I've had a couple of ice cream scoops in the draw for years but I never bothered using them as they were less effective than a blunt stick. One was a traditional bulky metal design that you were supposed to heat up in a bowl of hot water first, but who can be bothered with that?! The other was a more modern sleek design with a smaller round head, but it just wouldn't cut through ice cream unless its been left out for 10 minutes first to soften up.
The Culinare scoop is a bit of a revelation. The first thing I noticed was how heavy duty it is. It feels really solid, looks nicely manufactured and finished, and the best bit is the comfortable chunky handle which is very easy to grip. But the real strength is the business end - the design really does just slide through ice cream straight out of the freezer.
I've become quite a fan of Culinare products recently and this is no exception. Excellent performance, excellent value, 5 stars!
PS - They recommend not to wash it in a dishwasher which may put some people off, but I don't have one! :-)
