Not a good shave August 5, 2008 J. cowling (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned this shaver for 3 months now and in 40 years of using wet and dry shavers this is the worst electric shaver i have used. You really do have to push hard to get a so so shave and then it still takes 20 minutes of constantly going over the same patch of skin to get it smooth ish, especially around the neck area.At the end of the day what shaver you buy is up to you, but i suggest saving up a bit more money and getting something else that will give a decent shave.I have heard but not seen that "Which" (whom i have alway trusted)said this is the best shaver, but i really can,t see how they have arrived at that conclusion. The cutters are supposed to last 18 months but when they do get blunt i will throw the whole lot away
Top top Shaver for 29.00 all in with the postage April 25, 2008 K. Hinkley (Essex) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Contrary to Big Daddys review my Philips is as quiet as a mouse and all I can say is Dave you got a duff one if yours is making that much noise, you can hardly hear it with its super quiet motor..Way quieter than my old Philips rechargeable which I had for over 6 years until I saw this and got it for peanuts instead of the 90+ price tag it is everywhere else.. Having now owned this Philips rechargeable Shaver around 4 weeks I think its time for the review on it.. Shave is good and close but not as good as a Razor but then you wouldn't expect it to be would you, this does a fine job of collecting and cutting all length hairs in all directions even under the neck area and under the nose creases.. It also has a built in pop up trimmer for sideburns and eyebrows and this does a great job at keeping the bushy brows under control, my only gripe is that it don't come with an adaptor for the plug but you can't have everything, found one in a local bargain store for 50p so I'm happy.. You can wash this model under the tap aswell which is just brilliant and saves me ages having to brush my last one out every other shave which was a chore to be honest, but this is clean in under 30 seconds and just leave it open to dry out naturally in the air. All in all for the price I paid I'm made up..Well worth double the price and more I just hope it gives me as much trouble free shaving as my old Philips has..
shaves well but very noisey April 22, 2008 Big Daddy (Sussex , UK.) The only reason I am writing this is because I want to give people the feedback while considering to buy one or not as I used it myself. I bought this for 31.99 a great price,I would not pay more than 50 for one myself otherwise wait for the sales. Good all round shave for the money cheaper than buying a replacment battery in my old one, though it is a extremerly noisey machine. The first few days make you a bit sore as is with most new shavers. Until both the shaver and your face get accustomed to each other. Nice quick clean shave even under the neck a hard to reach place generally. The worst point I can say is that the whole head comes off far to easy for my liking and falls off with the slightest shake once opened, but does go back together with no problem as well. But if it keeps falling off after a slight shake to get the excess water off. After rinsing under the tap, I fear that this hitting the bottom of the sink over and over again will damage the heads early. The heads do not really need to come off at all any-way a mad construction in my veiw.I hope that this has help any one thinking of buying this item.
Takes forever April 21, 2008 Stephen Glass 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My first electric razor, am very disappointed with it. Takes more than double the time a normal wet shave would take.
