In an age when it's important to look as good below the collar-line as it is above, it's surprising that us chaps have had to wait so long for a useful little gadget like the BodyGroom, from Philips, to come along.This handy little razor is the first men's grooming product to be specially designed to help you keep body hair under control. Until now, if you've wanted to keep things looking neat below the neckline, you've probably been forced to resort to using trimmers, shears and scissors that make the job difficult at best, if not downright scary (there are some places that scissors and razor blades were never meant to go!).But does it work? Having volunteered as Amazon's long-haired guinea pig, I was keen to put the product through its paces and find out if it was as versatile as its makers claim it is. Cordless and waterproof, part of the what's so good about the BodyGroom is that you can use it anywhere - even in the shower. The unit features an easy to hold, tapered body to help you use it at a variety of different angles depending on the job you are trying to do and making even inaccessible areas quick and easy to get under control. The real secret of the BodyGroom's success is its dual function shaving head. Featuring a removable plastic guard, the design of the head means that the product works both as a conventional shaver, for total hair removal in some areas, and as a trimmer to trim and tidy in others. Getting the hang of using the BodyGroom was easy enough and will come pretty naturally to anyone that's ever used an electric shaver. Of the two functions, trimming is slightly trickier but by no means difficult - just remember to use a mirror to judge the results, especially if trimming below the waist, as you'll always appear hairier to yourself from above than you would to an onlooker… and you don't want to end up taking more hair off than you'd intended! When shaving using the BodyGroom, the hypoallergenic shaving foil certainly does a good job, leaving a nice smooth finish and no nasty shaving rash to spoil the look. The gently rounded shape of the head also meant that there were no nasty nicks even when using the product on very sensitive areas. Whilst the BodyGroom does come with a full set of operating instructions, these are rather brief and it would have been good if Philips could have provided a slightly more comprehensive set of hints and tips on shaving the different zones of your body. To recharge the BodyGroom the handle simply slots into a rather funky stand (supplied) where an 8-hour cycle will bring the unit back up to full strength. According to Philips each charge gives the unit enough power for up to an hour of shaving, which based on our experiments should be enough for even the hairiest bodies. All in all the BodyGroom is a very well designed product that brings men's grooming products bang up to date. For anyone who's ever been apprehensive about taking a razor south of the navel, this will do the job admirably, leaving your most precious bits & pieces as smooth as a baby's bum yet avoiding that freshly-plucked turkey look... The guards are useful for trimming the shrubbery down to size (though I did manage to break one trying to remove it - hence 4*) AND you can use it in the shower.

To Start off, I chose the express delivery and Bang the order arrived early morning on the date guranteed!, Again happy with Amazon.com delivery, havent yet had any problems with any order that I have ordered!
The product is quite well finished, though feels slightly plasticy! but looks good in Silver!, the Stand is funky and practical, the three attachments work just fine to trim hair to the length you desire. The Shaver itself delivers a very close shave (I was honestly surprised!), and yes it works beautifully down there ;) , though using baby powder helped loads, A worthwile buy.
Only Drawback i found was, removing the trimmer often removed the entire shaving head with it!, Nothing to make you have second thoughts about this product! I guess that would get okay with use.. A good buy.

This is a smart bit of kit, no more need for those scissors which were just tricky and a bit dangerous to use. It looks cool and sits in the hand very well to make for a comfortable trim. It does exactly what it says on the box. The trimmer attachments are pretty useful for those not wanting a Mr Sheen finish. Few pointers though, firstly take your time when using this. The motor is not as powerful as a clipper (nor should it be, DIY vasectomies are not what you want) and so may clog if you go too quickly. Being pretty hairy i can stand by the fact that this has no trouble dealing with fairly thick hair- if you take your time. As well as this, make sure the skin is as flat as possible to ensure an even trim, and again to stop nicks or the blades being clogged. Its very simple to use, don't be scared by the noise it makes either!As long as you're not a complete clown, its perfectly safe to use downstairs . Rechargeable battery makes it very portable and practical. If I'm to be critical i would ask for at least a couple of LED's showing me how much charge is left, but for the money its a fantastic shaver, very practical and puts an end to those cuts you got from snipping away with scissors.
