yes, this is fine. nice-looking; sturdy enough. not especially noisy (but not especially quiet either). The first setting is powerful enough for me.
unlike the previous reviewer i had no problems at all assembling it + i thought the instructions were perfectly clear. I don't think the metal screen obstructs the fan (??) and mine doesn't rattle when it oscillates.
I bought this fan for less than 20 on Amazon (from 247electrical, about 25 inc postage)and I'm happy with it. (i've seen it priced for 35 elsewhere)

Reading the other review I bought this fan expecting a silent storm. What arrived was the Micromark MM53519 - accompanied with inprecise instructions as to how to assemble the fan. After the unecesarily long time I spent trying to build the fan I took it for a test breeze. (The sturdiness was questionnable but so far so good)- it was okay. It did the job but wasn't quite the sensation described elsewhere. The silver grating covering the fan blades creates a kind of muffled sound and quite possibly blocked the fan from blowing at its potential. Then when using the rotating option I found that there was a faint rattle.
Yes this could just be my fan and badly misrepresents the other fans of this model but I think another fan would provide a better 'service'
Through this experience i have found - Fans are better when bought from shops, alternatively you could test the model out in a shop and buy online. Hopefully this is helpful :/

I bought a floor standing fan last year and to be honest you would get more coolness sitting in a draft it was useless so I needed to buy another one for this summer (What little we had!). So I bought the above it is a very stylish fan and looks smart indeed it is far heavier than I thought so it is very sturdy indeed! As for performance it is amazing and hurricane like for the price of it. Even more important very very quiet indeed it doesn't rattle or swing irregularly and has a very very smooth action indeed. I feel people would be able to sleep through the lack of noise so it would be ideal for a bedroom. However a shame to hide it away as it is beautifully shiny! Would I recommend you to buy it? Sure I would 10 out of 10 for style quality looks and performance!
