1 out of 5 stars Rubbish - would give zero stars if I could   July 26, 2008

Bought this at Heathrow to recharge my Tom Tom sat nav as I'd left the charger in the car. Thought it would at least do something helpful. No chance! Sunny and hot all week in Ireland in July. It took a full week to recharge the Tom Tom. After a 3 hour car journey there wasn't enough power for it to even start up. Considering returning it to Dixons on the basis it doesn't comply with the Sale of Goods Act.

5 out of 5 stars Very clever item!!   July 16, 2008

I have one of these sat in the window charging my Nokia now, i use it to charge my ipod, PSP and BB. It works as long as there is some sun, but will work under a bright lamp as well, I would think you have a damaged/faulty unit. I have used loads of other so called solar chargers and this is the only one that really works...

1 out of 5 stars Not suitable in the UK   July 10, 2008

This is a great concept and being someone that spends alot of time outdoors, I thought it would be great for me.

However, I have come to the conclusion that it is absolutely useless in the UK. We just don't have a strong enough strength of sunlight for it to work.

I have tried leaving it for a full day connected to various devices and it just doesn't work. I will take it on holiday abroad to see if it is any better there, but here in the UK .... it is useless.

Pity. I just wish someone else had written such a review before I parted with the money for mine. But, hey, I suppose someone had to be the guinea pig for it.
