Non stick my elbow! September 10, 2008 C. Schneider (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This piece of junk is the biggest con I have ever seen! Don't buy it, it is *not* non-stick. I was sceptical already before I bought it, but read the 4 star review below - notice though that the other review does not comment on the tin's non-stick qualities. I have several silicone baking trays all of which are genuinely non-stick and work perfectly every single time. Unfortunately a heart shaped silicone baking tray of that size cost 15.00, so I went for the cheap option. At least at 3.95 I haven't wasted that much money, but I do feel extremely annoyed. On top of that I have also wasted time, money and effort on a cake that although edible and nice tasting looks awful, since what I did manage to scrape out of the tin is in pieces, about a third of the cake has remained amalgamated to the tin. Absolutely useless. (Needless to say I did not use baking paper, since the product promised to be non-stick.)P.S. I wanted to rate it 0 stars, but unfortunatley that wasn't an option.
Nicely Shaped and Durable July 31, 2008 J. Turvey (Midlands, England) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this after hours of searching the shops and internet for a heart shaped tin, and after having no success was about to give up. Looking at the picture I was not sure whether the tin would be the right sort of shape as it did not seem that rounded at the top, but the resulting cakes were virtually identical to look I wanted to achieve. When it arrived I was impressed with the quality of the tin, very durable and well wearing, this is one for anyone who likes to be creative with cake shapes and styles. The size is a little smaller than I would have liked, but it makes a good sized cake. The tin measures 19 x 3.5cm in total. I have used the tin quite a number of times now and it is still in the same condition as when I bought it. Good value for the price, this is a fun tin to use and makes a nice shaped cake.
