Works perfectly December 16, 2008 MrB (UK) I used these to catch the rascally rodent that was chewing on my sponge mop. I set them along the walls, facing the direction where I was fairly sure the mouse was coming from. He was caught the same evening that I set them. I didn't even use any extra bait, just the 'paste' that's included with the traps. I'm only giving it 4/5 as they can be a little fiddly to set in tight spaces; you may find yourself accidentally closing the door. Great otherwise.
not humane November 25, 2008 A. Baker Ive used humane live traps for mice in the past with great success. When a mouse problem reoccured recently I purchased these, as I had lost my old humane trap, of a different design. I set these traps at night and checked them in the morning. They have remained empty each time, except for once when the mouse inside was dead. This was very upsetting as obviously not why I had bought these traps. Due to the moisture levels inside when I opened to remove the dead mouse, I would assume the death was largely due to the lack of ventilation and the very small area inside. **Dont buy this model of humane trap**
Useless November 14, 2008 C. Blair (UK) Bought these in a twin pack and gave them a go. I actually *heard* the mouse come out in the late evening, heard it enter the trap...and then some rattling about. When I checked, the mouse was scurrying away. The trap had closed, but the mouse was not inside. Judging by the mechanism I would suggest that the door doesn't close fully, thus allowing the mouse to push its way out. Total waste of time and money.
Disappointing product November 6, 2008 Sandy I have to agree with the rest of the one starrers here - the product just does not work. I would have liked to have given my 'little visitor' (field mouse as it turned out) a second chance but it would just flip the trap - and shut the door on the way out ! In the end I got the Rent o Kill advanced mouse trap which at least dispatched it quickly and cleanly.
Worked great for me! July 8, 2008 Book Maven (Cambridge, England) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I baited mine with a couple of bits of bread and had our little visitor within 45 minutes. These traps seem to need a hard surface and be pointing in the direction the mouse comes from which is why they suggest putting them back to back. Used properly they seem very effective, I used it a while ago as well and caught one overnight using peanut butter as a bait. Dont be put off by the reviews above but do experiment with wheaty or grain baits (not cheese apparently )
