Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Clean Green Dog Loo is a circular green container comprising a large unit with drainage slots which fits onto the top of a small bucket and is closed using a unique twist-lock lid to keep the dog waste safe from children and pets. It comes complete with an extra long scoop and 12 months supply of a high performance Bioactivator. With just a small dose of Bioactivator each week and the addition of water the Clean Green Dog Loo breaks down dog waste and flushes it safely into the surrounding rocks and soil. Suitable for large and small dogs. It requires a hole 60cm in diameter by 70cm deep the bottom 35cm of which you fill with rubble/rocks/hardcore to provide drainage.

5 out of 5 stars Fine so far   October 22, 2008

Having read several adverse reviews on this product, felt I needed to share my findings. I have a small dog (mini schnauzer) and this is working well for me. I pick up every day. I pour in a full bucket of water once a week and leave it to drain away. i have never timed this. I just leave it for about an hour. When I go back the level has dropped back below the drainage slots so I put in another capful of bio-degrader.

I don't know how one would tell if the poo is being broken down but there is no ghastly pong and no flies. I also assume that what I put in yesterday will not have broken down as much as what I put in 5 days ago. I would guess that if the product was not doing its job (no pun intended) the water in the bottom container would become increasingly sludgy and this is not the case so.......I am happy and now I only use poo bags when we go for our walk.

2 out of 5 stars The problem/s as I see them ...   October 10, 2008

I have a labrador, I also have 8 acres of plum trees as my back garden. Anyone who knows labs will realise that they are doggy dustbins. The theory of these bins is excellent. Unfortunately the manufacturers rely on two things 1.The poo must be collected and put into the dog loo whilst still soft, therefore it can degrade easily and 2. the dog doesnt eat plum stones therefore blocking the drainage holes and stopping any chance of the thing emptying naturally.
As a summary I would give it a good review but for the fact that I rarely pick up the doo doo immediately and my dog eats everything whether degradable or not.

We bought this for our Tibetan Mastiff puppy and after a few weeks (even with addition of activator) all we ended up with was a bucket full of poo.

We've tried using more activator, we've tried using more water... still just a bucket of poo.

We bought this item before getting a 7 week labrador puppy.

Even by 10 weeks this was just a bucket full of poo! we followed all the instructions of adding the degrading fluid, pouring in water and (yuk) stiring it with a stick. It was no use - this unit is a complete waste of time and money.

Take my advice and buy some plastic sacks and a shovel. Every week or so scoop the lot up and take it to a proper dog bin for disposal.
