Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Keep those unwanted cats out of the garden, from fouling vegetable patches, flowerbeds and lawns and from stalking the pond and bird table. This welfare-friendly sonic repeller will detect and repel cats without harming them or any other pets, encouraging birds and wildlife back into the garden. A PIR (Passive Infra-Red) movement detector constantly monitors and protects an area of 120sqm (1345sq feet) of unobstructed space, emitting a burst of ultrasound when an animal is moving within that area, to scare it away. Powered by 2 x 9V alkaline batteries (not included), this handy device is weather-resistant and features a LED indicator light and test button to check that it is functioning properly and to hear the swept frequency. It is able to remain on stand-by between activation periods so maximizing battery life. There is an in-built mounting stake for easy set-up and operation. For best results the unit should be fixed at a height of 30-40cm above ground level. It can also be mounted to a wall or building if preferred, using the mounting hole. Where mains power is available and heavy cat of dog activity anticipated a 9V Mains Transformer can be used as power (not supplied).

5 out of 5 stars Seems to work   January 7, 2009

Having read lots of mixed reviews, I thought I'd give this a go. Since I installed it, I haven't seen any cats on my patio and no more poop.

Though that might have something to do with the fact that I grabbed the cat who I thought was the culprit and rubbed her face in it....or that the temperature outside has now reached minus 2.

Our neighbours cats have two favourite spots in our garden so we aimed the repeller there. I went into the kitchen and looked out to find a noxious little cat sitting on my path no more than one and a half metres from the machine, as though it was enjoying the sound. The red LED was on and it shrieked at me as it is supposed to do. However, when I pulled out the stake to reposition it nearer the point of entry for the cats I found I got cat faeces all over the soles of my shoes, so it had obviously done its business near the alleged cat scarer!

I have been running this thing for 3 months now and cant see any difference in the number of cats paying me a visit. For what good this thing is I might as well throw it at the cats to scare them off only then might it do a better job.

5 out of 5 stars Good bye cats   December 30, 2008

I was a bit doubtful when I read the negative reviews but having spent a fortune on chemical and plant deterrents that had no effect I felt that there was nothing to loose. After reading the instructions carefully I set it up where it covered the area which the cats were using as a toilet and hey presto no little presents since. The cats are still around (they sit on the fence) but never attempt to come into my garden.

5 out of 5 stars It really works   December 24, 2008

I bought this just over six weeks ago. At first I didn't have it positioned quite right and the cat just concentrated its deposits in one corner, but I made a slight alteration to the angle and I've found nothing since. Before installing the repeller it was using the gravel beds in my garden as a full time litter tray judging by the amount I was having to dispose of every weekend. Definitely recommended.

Having been plagued by vermin, sorry cats in my garden I bought one of these in an attempt to ged rid of them. Sorry to report that the cats in my area ignore the repeller totally.Total waste of time and money.
